What Our Students Say
I hope to work in an area where I have the opportunity to care for people who identify as Hispanic or Latino, and primarily speak Spanish. This is a population I know I can positively impact through my nursing, language, and cultural sensitivity skills.
I took a roundabout way to pursuing a career in nursing. For a long time I thought I wanted to become a pediatrician. I knew I loved biological and medical sciences and really enjoy teaching. I came to the conclusion that nurse practitioner roles were a perfect combination for my interest in children’s medicine, patient contact, and patient education.
I loved working at MGH before coming to the IHP and I knew that as an IHP student that connection would remain. I don’t know where I’ll end up after school but I’m hoping to continue my employment within the MGB organization. I thought the IHP’s unique role within a healthcare organization would provide me with some of the best clinical placements and build my network of contacts in the medical field.
MGH Institute faculty challenged me to think and really emphasized critical thinking and professional reasoning skills.
