My S2 CDT By Nicole Wilkinson
Pupil Profile My name is Nicole Wilkinson and I am 14 years old. I live with my mum, dad, sister and my dog. The subjects I enjoy the most are P.E, Home economics and Music, but I don’t really enjoy Maths, Business or R.M.E. In my spare time I do Dancing, Swimming, and Hockey with the school. In a few weeks I’m going to the south of France with the P.E department at school for 1 week
My Clock This is the clock I made in S2. For the frame I cut out four finger joint squares and used PVA to stick them together . Then I cut and filed white acrylic and then used hot glue to place it in the frame. Then I placed the clock hands on and then used a strip heater to bend the base.
My Dice This is a poster we created about our dice. To make the dice we rendered we coloured one box yellow and then drew light brown lines for wood grain. For the coloured one we used a purple highlighter to make a one way colour line and then shaded the circles in to make them look 3D.
My Water Bottle These are 2 pictures of my rendered water bottles. We did a Pastel, Pencil, Computer and Marker.
My Rocket This is a poster and the rocket that we made and designed on Photoshop. We then made the real model in the graphic communication room and when finished, launched them in the school grass area.
My Pencil Holder This is the pencil holder that I made in S2 To make it we cut a long piece of wood into 3 different parts and then sanded the whole thing including the edges to make them smooth, then we glued them together and then glued them to a base After this we varnished and sanded it 3 times to make it smooth
Evaluation I have enjoyed CDT in S2, and feel more confident when working in the workshop than I did in S1 To have improved my grades I could have used better tone on the water bottle drawings and spent more time sanding my projects to make them smoother I learnt new skills on Photoshop and how to design different things on Autodesk Inventor All the topics we have done have fun and have taught me new skills
