This project aim to design a therapy facility in which cater to the needs of its user because, the therapy rehabilitation in Malaysia today were mostly does not meet the expectation and requirement as they were design without any precedence study and research. Several research has been conducted worldwide to investigate and to prove the effectiveness of the healing architecture through the implementation of therapeutic design approach, but mostly none of the research are focusing on the implementation of the design approach for the mobility impaired community.

The main ideation and planning for this facility is bay taking in There have been a deep research conducted through realizing this project consideration the main target user of it which is the mobility impaired into what it is. community consist of wheelchair, crutches and prosthetic user. No. Therapeutic Design Element Roofing : Generally, the design for this special group of the community has already been outlined in the design guideline books provided by related authority and designer.
Some of the consideration that should be taken are: i. It is much easier for mobility impaired community to commute in a direct space and less cornering.
ii. Mobility impaired cannot travel too far without getting tired especially those in wheelchair.

In designing stage, considering the vertical circulation of the user and the movement between block, a connecting space were created with ramp as a mean of vertical circulation.

However, when a ramp is constructed, it is not connected to every for each block. With the consideration of the wheelchair user to commute using the ramp, it is tiring for them to straight up 4m from GF to FF and to SF.

Thus, one of the block were lowered by 2m to create a staggered mezzanine concept to allow access from ramp to each floor and reducing the distance of traveling between floor to just 2m height.

This project able to explore the effects of therapeutic design approach toward mobility impaired community in term of physiology and psychology.
This project also successfully simulate on how to integrate Therapeutic approach into design and to engage a relation between building design as to provide positive influence toward the user.
Jalan Transfer, George Town Masterplan
Jalan Transfer is a major road that caters various types of activities for locals. However, from observation, it can be seen that Jalan Transfer has low local participation on daily basis. Based on the study, the area after Jalan Transfer mainly consist of residential areas. Although the proximity of residential areas to Jalan Trnasfer are very close, local resident seldom venture to Jalan Transfer. This unusual phenomenon can be trace to severals of its source mainly due to the bad connectivity Jalan Transfer has to its surrounding area. Jalan Transfer also lack in point of interest thus resulting in local to not really care for it and for the visitor to ignore it. Thus, the purpose of this project is to create a Masterplan that can help in boosting the connectivity between several potential spaces in Jalan Transfer by introducing new point of interest, promoting the visitors and locals to walk more and experience the journey in the vicinity.

Visible Landmark
1) Shorefront Promenade Located at the end of Jalan Transfer’s vista, framing the view towards sea. This part of shorefront is surrendered to public to connect the locals and visitors of Jalan Transfer with the edge of Penang Island.
2) Public Recreational Park Made up of two components: abandoned school of 1880’s era and Western cemetry , this compound is proposed to be enliven by introducing recreational activities and such. Cycling community is also catered for by providing cycling facilities and pavillion.
3) Playground/Community Area Acting as a community area for residential area around Jalan A.S. Mansoor, catering for locals of every generation to socialize and mingle around in this greenery-filled playground.
4) Central Marketplace
Square/
Located at the core of Jalan Transfer, this district is intended to act as public square for gathering of locals. Existing nodes around the area could be enhanced and connected by establishing the center of Jalan Transfer into pedestrian prioritized street, simply by change of road material - slowing down the vehicular traffic. Night markets and events could be held here to enliven Jalan Transfer that is currently dead without any activity every night.
5) Art Park This is the Art park uses creativity features as a way for guests to communicate with the architecture. Part of the park’s “Interactive Zone”.
6) Food Streets The currently half-vehicular halfpedestrianized road is proposed to be fully pedestrianized, welcoming locals from outer ring into Jalan Transfer. The existing food stalls are given proper space to expand their seatings and invite more vendors.
7) Pedestrian Priority Lane Located in the middle of Transfer road, representing significant value of the core of connectivity. “Identity” is the theme of this proposal. Optimizing Penang trees to take part in the city, and based by Peranakan pattern-pave customized with the colour of Penang. Pedestrian priorities road approach is applied in this area, promotes the intention to create a walkable city while enhancing the quality of connectivity in Transfer Road.
