A report about “The Ghost to Genny Castle” Claire was 15 years old, she was staying with Aunt Min for Christmas because her parents went away. So Claire stayed with her aunt in the village of Little Genny. Near it, there was an old Castle. Claire was very interested in the castle and wanted to know more about it. Yet, the people in that small village were afraid of that castle. As a result, they did not want to talk about it because of the tragic incidents that happened there ( death of people). Aunt Min said that Claire had to stay away, but Claire knew she couldn’t. She had to find answers. In a cold morning, Aunt Min tried to drive slowly, but her car went faster and faster in the snow. Claire and her aunt walked across the field . As Aunt Min was very tired, Claire decided to help her cross the field towards Walter Burges’s cottage. She pushed open the back the back door of the cottage and they went inside. After that, Claire decide to go out to find Mr. Burge, so she went to the castle. At that time, Mr. Burge was in the castle looking for his cat, Alex. Claire was there, as well. She was looking for Mr. Burge. Claire was so surprised to see the stones behind him move. Then , she shouted out “ the wall”. Then Walter jumped away from the wall and they returned to the cottage. They went outside to Walter’s car with Aunt Min, Claire looked out of the castle window. She was different: she wasn’t afraid anymore. Khaoula Kanna.

A report by the most industrious member of the club: You are amazing, Asmae. The story I read is actually one of Oscar Wild’s most popular plays and it’s titled “An ideal husband “. The play is about Sir Robert Chiltern who’s a very successful politician , an honest man and an ideal husband to the beautiful and serious lady chiltern . Many years ago , Sir Robert sold a government secret to a businessman for money and for making a fortune , later on , a new character , Mrs.Chevely appears in the play , and this new character attempts to blackmail Sir Robert into supporting the project of building a canal in Argentina considering she has invested a lot of money into it . Sir Robert refuses her request , but apparently , Mrs.Chevely owns the letter that Sir Robert has sent to the businessman containing the government secret and she intents to use it against him as a proof of his crime . Fearing both the ruin of his career and his marriage ,Sir Robert submits to her demands. Luckily , Lord Goring , Sir Robert’s most dear and close friend helps him by taking the letter from Mrs.Chevely and burning it . Then Lady Chiltern finds out about what her husband did , and she writes a letter to Lord Goring asking him for help , but that letter can easily be mistaken for a love note . For revenge , Mrs.Chevely steals that letter and decides to send it to Sir Robert as an evidence of a love affaire between his wife and best friend . However, that plan also fails considering that lady Chiltern explained what’s in the letter to her husband. The story ends happily that Sir Robert has been able to maintain both job and wife and Mrs.Chevely’s attempts to ruin his life have all ended with complete failure. Asmae Raji Moulah 11

The Importance of Being Earnest
“The Importance of Being Earnest” is a play about love, written by Oscar Wild in 1895. Everything happens in two days. The story begins in London at Algernon Moncrieff’s flat. Algernon is from an important family but he never has any money, he buys expensive clothes and often goes to theatres and restaurants. He doesn’t want to marry. His friend Jack Worthing is very rich. He usually lives in the country, but he enjoys weekends in London. He is in love with Algernon’s cousin, Miss Fairfax. But people often didn’t marry for love in the 1890s. Young people had to have their parents’ consent, and parents usually wanted their children to marry well. Money and family were more important than love. In the first act , Jack, Algernon, Miss Gwendolen Fairfax and her mother Lady Bracknell all met in Algernon’s flat, Jack confessed his love to Gwendolen and proposed to her and she accepted his proposal but the problem was that Lady Bracknell refused , because Jack wasn’t from an important family . He was found in a black handbag in Victoria station . The second act was in the country in Algernon’s house, in this act a very small thing causes a huge misunderstanding between Cecily (Jack’s cousin) and Gwendolen, and that small thing is the name EARNEST. Jack Worthing goes by the name Earnest Worthing in the city which is his brother’s name , but he doesn’t really have a brother , it’s just a lie that he made up , so now Gwendolen thinks that Jack’s name is Earnest and prefers that name over Jack and she says that she’ll never marry a Jack , so Mr. Worthing decides to change his name into Earnest. Algernon goes to Jack’s country house and pretends to be his brother Earnest just so he can meet Cecily , because Jack told him that she was a pretty young lady. Cecily and her governess Miss. Prism couldn’t tell that he wasn’t Earnest because they never really saw Earnest so they believed the lie. Algernon meets Cecily , falls in love with her and proposes to her and she accepts to marry him. But the 18

problem happens when Gwendolen arrives to the house and talks to Cecily while drinking tea. Both of the young ladies think that they are engaged to Mr. Earnest Worthing, because both Jack and Algernon lied about their names , so when Gwendolen and Cecily talked to each other , they thought they were both engaged to the same man, but that situation was settled when Jack and Algernon came in an explained the misunderstanding that happened. In the third and the final act, the impasse is broken by the return of Miss Prism, whom Lady Bracknell recognises as the person who, twenty-eight years earlier, as a family nursemaid, had taken a baby boy for a walk in a perambulator (baby carriage) and never returned. Challenged, Miss Prism explains that she had absentmindedly put the manuscript of a novel she was writing in the perambulator, and the baby in a handbag, which she had left at Victoria Station. Jack produces the very same handbag, showing that he is the lost baby, the elder son of Lady Bracknell's late sister, and thus indeed Algernon's elder brother. Having acquired such respectable relations, he is acceptable as a suitor for Gwendolen after all. Gwendolen, though, still insists that she can only love a man named Ernest. What is her fiancé's real first name? Lady Bracknell informs Jack that, as the first-born, he would have been named after his father, General Moncrieff. Jack examines the army lists and discovers that his father's name and hence his own real name was in fact Ernest. Pretence was reality all along. As the happy couples embrace Jack and Gwendolen, Algernon and Cecily, and even Dr. Chasuble (churchman ) and Miss Prism Lady Bracknell complains to her newfound relative: "My nephew, you seem to be displaying signs of triviality." "On the contrary, Aunt Augusta", he replies, "I've now realised for the first time in my life the vital Importance of being Earnest." Asmae Raji Moulah

Pride and prejudice I read an amazing novel : “Pride and Prejudice”. It is about a woman named Elizabeth Smith. She has five sisters , but she is the eldest and prettiest one. She was tall and slim, her eyes were black and her hair was black, too. The Smiths were invited to a party, so the girls must be ready , dressed and prepared to look the prettiest and be attracted to rich men. In the party, they were singing and dancing when the music stopped. Mr. Darcy and Mr. Wickham entered, so everyone was surprised. Mr. darcy and his friend walked to the centre of the room and the music was played again. While Mr. Darcy was looking looking at Elizabeth, Mr. Wickham was looking at her sister Jane. He liked her so much. Mrs. Smith goes to talk to the two gentlemen and introduced herself and her daughters. She’s always embarrassing them. Mr. Wickham asked jane to dance with him and she accepted. She really liked him, too. At 5:00 p.m. the party came to end and the Smiths had to go home. Mrs. Smith was very happy. She even imagined her daughters as brides in white dresses. She was very proud of them. Some days later, it was raining so she fell sick . Elizabeth went there to see her sister. Mr. Wickham’s sister welcomed her in a bad way. She didn’t like her, but Mr. Darcy was very happy see her. After one hour, the Smiths visited Jane. Mr. Wickham’s sister was very angry. She couldn’t support one member of that family, so how could she support all the Smiths? Their visit was a disaster to her. Some weeks later, Mr. Wickham travelled to London, so Jane was very sad. Her mother advised her to go to London to see her aunt. After one year, a man told Elizabeth that Mr. Darcy saved his friend from a really bad relationship with a very stupid woman. She wasn’t in love with him, her mum was a very stupid person. All she cared for was his richness. This made her cry after she heard that story. Mr. Darcy came to her and told her what he really felt towards her. It was love he felt towards her for a long time and finally proposed to marry her. Elizabeth refused his request as he thought she was kidding, but Elizabeth was serious and she stayed to tell him the reason. Mr. Darcy was very sorry for her. At night, he came and gave her a letter where he explained everything. He told her about what he does for his friend and how he saw her family. He asked to be forgiven. After she read the letter, she started to understand many things. The next day, Darcy came with his friend to ask Jane to marry him. She accepted and was happy to see him again. At that time Elizabeth started to know that she was blind as she was in love with him for a long time. Later, she accepted to marry him and they waited for her father to agree with their relationship. Hajar Dakik

A group of German teachers visited our school and it was a great opportunity to expose our students to authentic English. The activity aimed at knowing each other and especially culture, education and family life. Our students liked the experience as they got a nice chance to practice their English with non-Moroccans. The aims of the activity were: *To describe Moroccan schools *To introduce themselves *To recognize similarities and differences between the two systems *To discuss with foreigners *To compare and contrast both German and Moroccan cultures. *To express themselves freely and develop self-confidence. *To become tolerant and positive.
