Medicinal Cannabis OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW Medicinal cannabis is rapidly becoming a legal industry across the globe. There is a growing body of research that indicates that medicinal cannabis can be used to successfully treat a number of ailments. Additionally, several stakeholders, including medical practitioners, patients and governments, have been embracing research on the benefits of medicinal cannabis. Barbados legalised cannabis for medicinal purposes when it enacted the Barbados’ Medicinal Cannabis Industry Act, on September 30, 2020. Laboratory: To facilitate the conduct of testing and analytical services associated with improving or further developing medicinal cannabis.

R&D: For the conduct activities related to scientific research for the purpose of improving or further developing cannabis for medicinal, therapeutic or scientific purposes.
