Camp Schedule

Train like the pros! Campers will be able to enhance their basketball skills with a focus on shooting, ball handling, passing, and basketball-IQ development.
9:00 AM – 9:15 AM Attendance and discuss schedule for the day
11:15 AM – 12:00 PM 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4, or 5 on 5 Tournament
9:15 AM – 9:30 AM Warm-up, plyometrics, and lay-ups
12:15 – 1:00 PM Lunch / Pool / Game Room
9:30 AM – 9:50 AM Ball handling based on skill level
1:00 PM – 1:15 PM Knockout championship
9:50 AM – 10:20 AM Offensive stations: form shooting 1 vs. 1, passing, 3 vs. 2, move station
1:15 PM – 2:50 PM Full-court scrimmage
10:20 AM – 10:50 AM Defensive stations: defensive slides, defensive positioning, closeouts, 1 vs. 1 full court, box-out drill 10:50 AM – 11:15 AM Individual team shooting skills

Campers need to bring the following every day: court/indoor shoes, sunscreen, water bottle, bathing suit and towel. Daily lunch is included.
There is no limit to the number of weeks your child can sign up for! Discounts are available for multi-week campers.

Coach Ochiel Swaby, former Gatorade Player of the Year, collegiate and professional player, and 2017 Florida Dairy Farmers Girls’ Basketball Coach of the Year will lead the Miami Country Day School 2017 Basketball Camp. Coach “O” and his dedicated staff of coaches led the Lady Spartans Varsity team to back-to-back State victories from 2014 through 2017 (and the 2015 State and Dick’s national invitational tournament victory!). They have also sent Division I student-athletes to Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Miami, Illinois, and Eastern Michigan universities and earned a position in the top 10 girls high school basketball programs in the country by ESPN and USA Today. This summer they will provide one of the most effective and comprehensive programs in Florida to develop young basketball talent. Through technical instruction, unique drills, guided game situational play, and camaraderie. Campers will develop into better players with a passion for the game of basketball.

Basketball Camp at MCDS is a slam dunk! Miami Country Day School’s Basketball Camp offers boys and girls ages 5-18 the chance to learn the game of basketball in a fun, challenging setting. We aim to build a solid foundation of skills that will be beneficial to players of all levels. Campers enhance their basketball skills with a focus on shooting, ball handling, passing, and basketball-IQ development. Scrimmages and teamwork are key components of the basketball program. 5+week campers eligible to enter weekly G-shock raffles and win an iPad mini. Our camp counselors include Lady Spartans, who played integral parts to the success of the four-time defending State Champion and Dick’s National Tournament Champion teams.
