MEET YOUR 2021 MIAMI DOLPHINS CHEERLEADERS
ALEXIS Rookie
Hollywood, Fl University of Miami Commercial Banking Control Analyst
Interesting Fact? I am passionate about investing in the stock market and building a strong portfolio. Ever since I was little, wealth and investment management was an interest of mine and I hope to incorporate that into my career one day. Why do you cheer/dance? I dance for myself, my teammates, and the thousands of people who look forward to seeing us every week. Dance allows me to express myself emotionally and physically. When I dance, I feel like I am giving myself a mental break from the real world. What charity are you most passionate about and why? Black Girls CODE is a charity of which I am passionate about because it exposes African American girls to relevant knowledge to help them succeed. The technology industry and STEM are both huge right now so it is important to be prepared for the digital workforce by coding. My father always told me that “knowledge is the one thing this world can’t take from you”, therefore charities like these are important to me.

Favorite MDC Memory? Doing the first practice in the studio after making training camp. That is when it started to feel so real and it felt like a huge step in the process of officially making the team. Why do you cheer/dance? Because it gives me the ability to express myself through movement and tell a story. Dance is the perfect intersection of art and sport, and I love that it keeps my body active as well. What advice would you give someone auditioning to become a Miami Dolphins Cheerleader? My advice for anyone auditioning to become a Miami Dolphins Cheerleader is to truly believe in themselves and what their body can accomplish. Push yourself to your limits while training–not just physically but also mentally–because being an MDC is all about how strong we are inside and out. Always strive to give your best performance and allow your personality to shine through this performance–every MDC is different and that is what makes us so special in our own, unique ways.
