TR ANSFER TO MI AMI:

IT’S WORTH THE MOVE

This is more than just a college campus.

This is the ground that holds the foundation of every step forward. The walls that hear the dreams you’ve only spoken to your journal. The oak trees that dare you to rise beside them. This is where the present questions the past to blaze a better future. The one you’ll help create. The one you’re already creating. These are the moments when who you are meets who you will become. This is just the beginning.

This is MIAMI UNIVERSITY.

We take your success

personally Miami is a mediumsized school with a big reputation for giving students the personal attention and career preparation that’s almost impossible to find at a mega-university. We attract nationally recognized faculty who love to teach and mentor undergraduates.

your worldview Studying abroad enhances your education and gives you an understanding of world cultures, a valuable asset in both your personal and professional life. Miami’s worldwide programs give you choices to fit your budget and schedule, from Winter Term or Summer Term, to a class trip over spring break, or a semester at our Luxembourg campus. That’s why we’re ranked in the top 5 nationally for study abroad participation among public doctoral institutions.

In fact, U.S. News and World Report ranks us third among publics nationwide for undergraduate teaching. That means you’ll be encouraged to explore your interests in new ways, involved in hands-on research and connected to career opportunities.

The power to With 100+ majors, you’ll find a program — or a few — that spark your interest. Miami is a place where you don’t have to choose one discipline. In fact, we encourage all students to explore their interests. You can even select a co-major, which is a program paired with a primary major that enhances your studies. But it’s okay if you’re not sure what programs to commit to yet. University Studies is an exploratory major where you complete foundational course requirements while discovering possible avenues.

Miranda always looks for unconventional ways to express her creativity. She spent six weeks in Ghana designing and building a maternity ward for a rural village and studying African textiles. She won a fellowship to research African cultural influences on American sneaker culture. And, she’s currently applying her architecture knowledge to create innovative shoe designs.

As an undergraduate, Josh combined his interests in chemical engineering, biology, business, and music by pairing different programs of study with extracurricular experiences like the Glee Club and founding his own tutoring business. The broad skillset he developed at Miami allows him to thrive in his role as an EY consultant assisting companies in the life science and biotechnology industries.
