(He is) the Knower of the unseen. So He does not disclose His (knowledge of the) unseen to anyone except a (divinely) chosen messenger (Surah Al-Jinn, verses 26- 27). At the same time Allah has pronounced that, given this is a Divine revelation, there can be no contradiction in the verses of the Glorious Qur’an.

‫اّلل ل ََو َج ُد ْوا ِف ْي ِه ا ْخ ِتل َافًا َك ِث ْي ًرا‬ ِ ٰ‫ِن ِع ْن ِد غَ ْي ِر ه‬ ْ ‫َان م‬ َ ‫َو ل َْو ک‬ Do they not reflect upon the Qur’an? Were it from other than Allah, they would have found much contradiction in it (Surah An-Nisa, verse 82). How then can one resolve this issue and reconcile the apparent divergent messages in the verses? Instead of resorting to the minutiae of etymology and grammar this can be done using conventional wisdom and simple logic. What Allah is saying is that no one can have the knowledge of the unseen of their own accord. But Allah can bestow this knowledge on whosoever He wishes. For example Sayyidina Yaqub described this in the Holy Qur’an as follows:

‫اّلل َما ل َا ت َ ْعل َُم ْو َن‬ ِ ٰ‫ِن ه‬ َ ‫ا َ ْعل َُم م‬ "Did I not tell you that I know from Allah, which you do not know?" (Surah Al-Yusuf, verse 96).
