Sure, we’ll start with the witch trials.
But Salem is more than just witches. The witch trials took 14 months. Salem’s history spans four centuries.
This 90 minute tour begins at The House of the Seven Gables and ends at the Peabody Essex Museum. (Or we can run it backwards if you want to finish at the Gables!) We will see the homes of some of Salem’s rich, famous, and notorious—and also see their final resting places at Salem’s oldest cemetery, the Burying Point. You will hear stories of privateers, millionaires, adventurers, and of course the innocent people accused of witchcraft. We will visit the historic waterfront where Salem’s journeys to the farthest ports of the rich east originated and see a replica sailing ship. Your group will be delighted with a view of Salem that can only be had by walking the paths of history.

public school teacher and performing arts director for over 11 years before launching a successful tutoring business in Salem: Tutoring By Design. She brings her passion for teaching and storytelling together in her walking tours, providing an educational as well as entertaining experience. Your group is sure to have an unforgettable time hearing the stories and visiting the sites of Salem.

Up to three adult chaperones accompanying students may participate free of charge. If the number of people in your group exceeds 40, we may run multiple groups. Please call for details. Tours will take place on cloudy days or in light drizzle. If weather is a concern, please call us on the morning of the tour.
