Some trust in chariot’s, some trust in horses, but we trust in the Name of the Lord our God
During the 2017 Christmas season we are assisting our daughter and son-‐in-‐law, Jessica and Chris Angsomwine as they transitioned back to Houston, TX from Boynton, Beach, Florida. They finished up their 2-‐½ year stay in the West Palm Beach, Florida area as part of their daughter Briella’s limb lengthening Journey. The journey was a huge success and a perfect example of mixing faith and medicine. Just four years ago, Briella’s only option was amputation, and now departs with her own two legs and feet. God came through for our family in an immense manner. It has truly been a holistic journey that tested faith, finances, medicine, patience, relationships, time … but most of all everyone’s trust in the name of the Lord our God. The journey of a healing vs. amputation began with a prophetic word from Minister Joe Jordan who spoke a word to Jessica and Chris once he prayed for Briella’s leg. That word was… “open the Bible to Proverbs 3:26.’’ That verse in the KJV says “For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” Some may think it was a stretch of scripture; however, it was exactly what God provided to carry them into their journey and victory of faith. We are constantly reminded that God’s Word is ‘alive’ and ‘powerful’ and takes on ‘action’ in the very lives of those who put their trust in the Lord. The last 2-‐½ half years has given fresh meaning to the words in Psalm 20:6-‐7 “Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some trust in horses but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” It is true, we have put some trust in medicine, funding, medical care, a wonderful surgeon, friends, the church -‐-‐-‐ but hands down, when we fell to our knees we can say we have put our trust in the name of the Lord our God. As we have done so, we have manifested all seven meanings of the name of God which include – provider, redeemer, and healer. God has provided the surgeon, the financial means as He provided the healing, and redeemed Briella’s leg. The biblical promise in Proverbs 3:26 was fulfilled as our family all walked it out. Again, that promise was “The Lord was our confidence, and Briella’s leg and foot was not taken.” His Word came alive! The scars on her legs became a symbol of God’s healing vs. something to cover-‐up and hide.
Briella’s very name means ‘The Lord is My Strength’ and she has endured the journey through the world-‐class limb lengthening at the Paley Institute with world-‐class surgeon Dr. Dror Paley. Briella’s journey is an incredible triumph and victory; and she leaves with the reflection of her story and life on the walls of both St. Mary’s Medical Center and Paley Institute. Below are two of the many images reflecting Briella’s journey and victory.

Summary During special challenges and journeys you can trust in churches, people, medical care, retirement funds, savings, and even horses and chariots to win your victory. However, lasting victories that allow you to leave a reflection of the one whom you believe -‐-‐ comes when you trust in the name of The Lord Your God. Money, jobs, retirement funds, chariots, surgeons, medical care by themselves do not provide lasting reflections. Personal reflections that live-‐on and last into eternity come as we reflect the image of God in and through our actions – as we trust in him. This is the essence of 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit!” Below is an image I captured of Briella the day after she was born. I immediately knew that with her name meaning ‘The Lord is my strength’, and being born with the limb deficiency … that she was praying for herself in advance of her journey. She and her parents have been victorious and leave a legacy and Briella’s reflection on the walls of the medical facilities as well as in the hearts of many people. She has ushered in God’s glory through her ongoing reflection.
