MARCH(PROF) THESIS (2021-2022)

Time Frame: 12 Months

Achievements: - (A+) Final Grade

- INDE design awards nomination ‘The Graduate’

- Adam Art Gallery feature, ‘Exhibition: The Machine Stops’

This design led thesis investigates specula tive architectural artefacts in the Anthropo cene — an era when humanity has such an influence on the earth that the geological and ecological repercussions will be detectable indefinitely into the future. The investigation speculates how philosophy, system theory

and ecocentrism may address key symptoms of the Anthropocene such as anthropogenic waste and anthropocentrism. It explores a dila tion in physical and temporal scales, through an architecture that is responsive to a contexts at a planetary scale, spanning epochs.

‘The Artisan and the Sorcerer’ is a multi-media artwork for the ‘Machine Stops’ Adam Art Gallery Exhibition. It explores two philosophical characters within A Thousand Plateaus — the anthro pocentric Artisan and the eco-centric Sorcerer.

Approach:Brief: Fractal tower is a provocation facing post-industrial urbanisation. It uses fractal simulations, inspired by medical cities, as a reaction to the Euclidian urbanisa tion that favours vehicles over the pedestrian.

Design a landmark museum

Approach:

Time Frame: 8 weeks

Pedro, Monterrey,

Collaborators: Michael Weir - Iza Tomson - Sarah Adams

Museo De Monterrey utilises vernacular mate rials in the construction of a ‘monument to Monterrey’. Inspired by the creative process of a sculptor, people shift through the museum, with cruxes, new ideas, design developments

and the final sculpture reflected in the floor plans. The two sculptural peaks form a cradle, mimicking the mountains that surround the valley city of Monterrey.
