SPACE CONFIGURATION SOLID & VOID In classical mechanics, the parameters that define the configuration of a system are called generalized coordinates, and the vector space defined by these coordinates is called the configuration space of the physical system. It is often the case that these parameters satisfy mathematical constraints, which means that the set of actual configurations of the system is a manifold in the space of generalized coordinates. The set of velocities available to a system defines a plane tangent to its configuration manifold. Thus, the set of position and momenta of a mechanical system forms the cotangent bundle o f t h e c o n f i g u ra t i o n m a n i f o l d . T h i s visualization consists of several simple geometries ,as a rethinking of space configuration.The random grids that protruded from the panel means "solid" ,while the opposite means "void" .

A reevaluation of method with filtering and an alternative formulation for solid– void topology optimization .Allowing t h e p r o c e s s t o e vo l ve t h r o u g h t h e use and study of the multitude of urban conditions found in real area , this particular assignment utilizes the intricate densities of the typical mapping agenda and allows these found densities to form a type of vertical condition which in return informs the evolution of a tower like construction .

SPACE CONFIGURATION Through this subject, we tried to examine the relation between the void and the solid in architecture. By convention, in plan or section, what has been cut is indicated as black, so if a space is in black, then in theory it has been treated as a mass that has been cut. This is a graphic representational technique to convey the idea of inhabiting a thickened wall. In the solid-void plan, the main (served) spaces are in white and t h e a u x i l i a r y ( s e r va n t ) s p a c e s are in black. The thickening of the wall to contain the servant space is what the black space communicates in the plans of Aires Mateus. This is part of a chain of research developing the “idea of the boundary,” “where matter gets thicker on the boundary''. Consequently the alternation between the solid and the void are from the most basic elements of architectural expression through the centuries and is included as all the architectural creation in the total culture.

VERTICAL CONCEPT The concept of the proposal begins to speak about the ideas of layering. The vertical proposal is thought about in a non linear manor meaning instead of a typical design process, top to bottom, the gesture is conceived from core to skin. In this manor, the vertical feature begin to be constructed in layers with the vertical gardens consuming the core and the structural glaze or skin condition making up the facade of the scheme.

COMMUNITY RENOVATION "CROSSROADS" The Christian church in Nanyang Union Community ,was built by a pastor from Norway Lutheran in 1904.At that time the old China was such poor and weak that invaded by other countries .People were suffered and everywhere turned to be tragedy .That's the background when the church was built. It had explicit purpose and social responsibility .School and medical outpatient were conduct to serve the society . Nowadays ,the community was fade when new architectural mode s u r r o u n d e d d e ve l o p e d ra p i d l y a n d coursed a great impact to the community .On one hand ,the original architectural morphology and harmony atmosphere was reserved.On the other h a n d , c o m m u n i t y c u l t u r e wa s f a d e becurse of the lack of functional space. A series of problem was occurred and the community lost its vitality.

COMMUNITY RENOVATION With the development of society, the public buildings could not meet the resident's requirement any more .Lots of problems were happened such as lack of public space and neighbour relationship ,high density and so on .We analyze and integrate the existing matters in community .To reactivate the community vitality, we use design to improve life constitutionally . In order to solve the parking matter when people came to visit the elderly in vacation ,more parking space need to be provided .We could fully use of the second floor as flexible space to release ground floor .considering the limit of previously urban design ,we try to move forward a bit .That's the reason we took more consideration to recycle material .
There are lots of church and mosque surrounding us that always influenced our community life invisibly.At the meantime ,it came about many conflict including economy,policy and belief ,etc .
In such high-density community ,we are not going to remove them.Instead ,to reveal the contrast,construction was undertaken.

"CROSSROADS" The material of original commercial section renovation came from local site .The structure of existing store which were brick concrete has been overdue.Use the material that had been remove from the old building to refresh the facade of stores. At the same time ,the reconstruction in first floor could be the structure of upper public space .The strategy of architecture,provided public space and improve the community function , not only concerned about the residents' feelings ,but also imply the responsibility of young generation . "Street culture" is the regional characteristic. People like to entertain in the streets which creates a vertical transportation as a secondlayer "Street Culture". Not only do we solve the matter of lacking space, but also the transportation.

Multi-functional facilities with ‘modular variation’ is in order to tackle all the problems within the community. It could not be emphasized the functional solutions in residential issues any more since how the inhabitants lived affected the community vitality.

Promenade Architecturale "Architecture is experienced as one roams about in it and walks through it… So true is this that architectural works can be divided into dead and living ones depending on whether the law of ‘roaming through’ has not been observed or whether on the contrary it has been brilliantly obeyed.."-- Le Corbusier created virtuosic imbrications of indoor and outdoor space, fluid spaces that reveal themselves as the visitor progresses. Architecture constitutes the space of processes of movement.It is the sequence of images that unfolds before the eyes of the observer as he or she gradually advances through the structure. It is the creation o f a h i e ra r c h y a m o n g t h e a r c h i t e c t u ra l events, a set of instructions for reading the work – the "internal circulatory system" of architecture. With the help of the "promenade architecturale".
In tradition,the connection between buildings are usually weak,partly depend on bridges.

In this mode, commercial room are arranged in comparable small space, without sort of useless space,which has the effect of great circulation.Path and courtyard are involved to form the central square.What the most attractive point is that the internal square intrigued people to rest for a while.lots of moving line not only to ensure the open space scale to unban design,but also provide a good vision to pedestrain.

SOFTEN BOUNDRY Community Renovation
Modern archictecture constantly seek for height ,Eco revitalization, accomodate to the nature......Which kind of living forms are more exactly for human-being?It not only about unban planning or dwelling design,but more about the field of relationship between social relation and architecture composition. To reate a social housing that allows a flexible design process: each house is considered simultaneously as a unit and in relation to the whole group .A community are related to micro-city,which is a rethinking to the community...... 'Soften Bounday' is the area in related to connection that is neither completely private, nor completely public.It will make people feel more confortable in pysically and mentally to live between the private and common space. There is more incentive to introduce this hypothesis into the community renovation in terns of seeking for the reasonable and comfortable surroundings in resisdential space.Street in the area as to 'alley' with linear space is for resident to assemble and communicate.It is about how to convert different elements into the community renovation.

SOFTEN BOUNDRY 柔性边界 ECOLOGICAL RENOVATION TO REVIVE THE COMMUNITY
The buildings in the site were constantly re-constructed so far, which broke the urban partterns in originally. As result, removing the reconstruction turned to be premise consideration to clear the original patterns.Obviously, more sustainable living space compared to existed buildings in such highdensity area will have far-reaching effects to change the unreasonable situaiton.It would be also a timeconsuming task.

Not only to get rid of the stiff morphology of urban but recreate the social housing that allowed a flexible design process, each individual building was considered simultaneously as a unit and in relation to the whole group, as the rethinking to community.

SOFTEN BOUNDRY The site is in the central area of Nanyang city, where is connecting with the zone of culture,education and business. Lots of problems were happened since the population has been overpassed the capacity of city. In the simplified pattern, we could see the integrity of urban construction.If the residential area has been well arranged, it would not only revive the community, but the vatility of city.

A city, that supposed to be a real city, is cinsidering to consitituted with complicated rhyphm based on various flow,including humanality,mechanism and nature-being. Then a particular focus was given to addressing sustainable community issues which I formulated ‘Soften Boundary’ in relentless urbanization considering to human scale. I took for granted that a community resembled to a synthetic ‘Micro-city’ with transportation, functional districts and facilities, presenting the rhythm of urban complexity.

In this strategy, various space will meet the expectations of different resident. The main street emerged in the community is about 6-8m width in concrete surface. Different unit between each other consisted of the community center in the cross section.With the dissemination of green space, each household will share their own plant cultivation.

'Residential Group' is the configuration in highly free of different type of dwellings. It would be provided with extensively flexbility and creavitive domestic forms. The declaration, Five Points Towards a New Architecture, is roughly contemporaneous with the designs for Le Corbusier's houses.The theoretical considerations set out below are based on many years of practical experience on building sites. The theory demands concise formulation. T h e fo l l o w i n g p o i n t s i n n o way relate to aesthetic fantasies or a striving for fashionable effects, but concern architectural facts that imply an entirely new kind of building, from the dwelling house to palatial edifices.

The old department of archictecture could not contain more increasing students .As a result , a new department is programmed .We found such limited land for holding a department and laboratory which means to maximise the value of land . Considering the trend to new architecture ,five points to Le Corbusier ,we try to create a new open form to meet different demand .The supports,to solve a problem scientifically means in the first place to distinguish between its elements. The horizontal window, together with the intermediate ceilings the supports, form rectangular openings in the faรงade through which light and air enter copiously.

CITY FOREST High-Rise Hotel The site is near the main street,where the central park to the west,ending with residential district and academy.The matrix of 'tree' is ditracted to create the forest space. Multi-level systems are combined with straight line and curve line. Terraces on top of roof with green-space system are connected with the west of building,as the connection with different sites and elimination of level difference. Across the building there is a huge path to connect the interior and exterior,shaping the grey space in front of entrance. As a result, the possibility of multi-function is stimulating the various reaction.

DIGITAL EXPLORATION IN ARCHITECTURE DESIGN The rapid emergence of digital design tools has come to offer an incredible array of new capabilities to the contemporary designer. However,as with any tool,whether it be a pencil or software, there are limitations.It is therefore important to recognize this and maintian a working flexibility as designs to leverage the “best in class�tool for the task at hand. Date working is essential to our design process to enable software flexibility.These things are reasonable and sustainable by learning from the act, stance and morphology of nature-being. Things existed in the nature have the reasons to be existed since they emerged and exposed to the sun and rain day after day.

The interior of museum tended to be dynamic morphology in related to the circumstance of exhibition. ‘Cave’ inside the museum provided extensive space. The structure were embodied by function,surrounding and aesthetic appreciation.The bezier curves were interesting to the‘elastic effect’ with dynamic variation and visual impact.
