Bandung as a creative city is a place where a lot of cultures refound such as art and media communities. On the other hand, an active civic spaces like public plazas, gallery or parks were lacking. This 4th year studio project present how a symbolic reproduction of the city itself can be derived by metaphor ical analogy as a design approach.

The chararteristic of the word creative was transformed into a graphic line, plan and space that conclude into a basic form. This process was than became an analogy phases that consign to both exterior and interior circulation scenario, facade building and programming function.

The process of searching ideas itself implied by the circular shape of 2 interlocking buildings and pathways that focused to the core. Amenity space that make a distance for people to see were given by green barrier perimeter surround the buildings.

The program called for a temporary display , commercial and education function. The separation from each funtion was given by different acces point from which people came. The tempoaray display that contains of 3 floor areas were loacated in one building while commercial and eduaction function were in another.

Sequence of casements that look like a fin and pointed landscape element give an accent that itensify people to search and walk to the core. Both were given to reinforce the notion that the performance space in amphitheatre is a part of continous cycle from reinvention ideas for creativity.

Semarang as one of the cities that had a strong backgrond of Chinese culture became a collage of different cultures and styles. The architecture of the Chinese diaspora became a harmonious symbiosis, producing a hybrid typology which became native to loacality. Located in the Chinese temples compound Kauman, Semarang. The process to get negative and positif spaces gained by : 1a. Joining 3 axis Three axis of the footprint was found on the 2 axis of the temples and the borderline Kali Semarang. Meeting point of the third axis is then forwarded to the eastern boundary of land. This point will be the starting point in the site planning
With a wall all around A clay bowl is molded ; But the use of the bowl Will depend on the part Of the bowl that is void.
1b. Emphasizing vertical line From that point, the line is drawn vertical to the western boundary of site. This line was taken based on the importance of the spatial axis in Chinese architecture.
Cut out windows and doors In the house as you build ; But the use of the house Will depend on the space In the wall that is void Tao Chapter 11
1c. Symetrical form Shape was achieved from the vertical line is the symmetry of the two masses temple existing with two new buildings.
As for the traditional facade, the leading key concept was the game level on each building elevation that produces fasade that plays on the overall footprint. This was conceived by increasing and decreasing buildings height and roof framing.

TAO’S philoshopy of emptiness and balanced became a foundation of abstract values for site planning as negatif and positif spaces while vernacular shapes became a facade plan for whole buildings by framing view. The festive and colourful atmosphere were gained by variant civic spaces like Plaza that support appreciation and exploration of Chinese culture.

Continuum Concept which is the thinking of the cultural values embodied in the form of Tiong Hoa circulation flowing. The existence of cultural procession produce a continuous circulation. Visitors are invited to move so that they can enjoy the attractions and activities that exist in this cultural center.

shafina residnece The rapid economic growth from big city like Jakarta has resulted significat changes for sub urban areas. Bekasi as one of the satelite city has a progressive growth especially through the expansion of new housing and industrial areas. Shafina residence as a housing project was designed with town house concept to minimise land usage. Despite the variety of unit sizes and affordability to achieve a broader community, modular shapes were given to be expand in future development.

sunter house Sunter house was a renovation project that located at Sunter Podomoro, Jakarta. Client’s main requierment was a solution for dead end alley location in bringing bad luck for feng shui, wide and freedom to develop its own function in the spaces. Breathing wall became a solution for the dead end alley, it was a casting modular concrete that compose into a fence. As a renovation project, there were addition for the mezanin floor and substracion in both west and east wall for producing free spaces and sky light.

Kotak kutak kutik is movable gallery designed with innovative materials and constructional techniques. In order the visitors come to the gallery, the gallery approach them.
