description_ Refurbishment and extension of a 3 storey single terrace house in Queens park. The lower ground floor is to be opened up with a new pavillion like rear extension. The scheme uses reclaimed bricks in a modern form. The ground floor is expanded sideways into an unused yard area and backwards into the garden that is now part of the living area.

description_ Refurbishment and ground floor extensions of two terrace houses. The planning application for the properties was submitted as a single development. The monochrome palette in the new parts of the house contrasts with the Edwardian colours used in the existing house. The big central frame for the new glass door of the extensions looks like an archetype door facing onto the garden.

description_ Basement fisability study for an house in Chelsea. Attention has been particularly paid to the amount of light for both the ground and new basement levels of the house. The big subterranean room is brighter and airier than most ground-floor living rooms. A 20ft high glazed box on the back faรงade creates a buffer-zone which connects, visually and physically, the Georgian ground-floor sitting room with the new deep basement, the outer terrace and the garden.

description_ The urbanistic plan of the CR_08 of Salerno was a 100.000square-meter area and intended to realize two plots of buildings. In the first plot located in Via Compra, was erected a curved shape residential structure made of 4 buildings with 5 floors each. The whole structure was set on the top of a hill facing the Gulf of Salerno. The beautiful view could be enjoyed from wide balconies and broad windows which enhanced the construction. The plan focused on the study of the energetic and environmental comfort, and special attention was also turned to heat bridges in order to reduce heat loss as much as possible.

description_ The PUA CR_08 sought the realisation of a residential building located in Via Magnone, in the valley of Brignano lake. The complex took advantage of the lake as its main strength, enhancing its beauty with wide balconies which can host some of the family activities. In addition, the ground floor flats were equipped with beautiful gardens from where the view of the Gulf of Salerno could be enjoyed. The construction was planned and realised with the highest quality of eco-friendly materials, in order to reduce the environmental impact of the structure. Also a urban garden was at everyone disposal.

Nel caso di edifici di nuova costruzione, lo spessore delle murature esterne, delle tamponature o dei muri portanti, superiori ai 30 centimetri, il maggior spessore dei solai e tutti i maggiori volumi e superfici necessari ad ottenere una riduzione minima del 10 per cento dell'indice di prestazione energetica previsto dal decreto legislativo 19 agosto 2005, n. 192, e successive modificazioni, certificata con le modalita' di cui al medesimo decreto legislativo, non sono considerati nei computi per la determinazioni dei volumi, delle superfici e nei rapporti di copertura, con riferimento alla sola parte eccedente i 30 centimetri e fino ad un massimo di ulteriori 25 centimetri per gli elementi verticali e di copertura e di 15 centimetri per quelli orizzontali intermedi. Nel rispetto dei predetti limiti e' permesso derogare, nell'ambito delle pertinenti procedure di rilascio dei titoli abitativi di cui al titolo II del decreto del Presidente della Repubblica 6 giugno 2001, n. 380, a quanto previsto dalle normative nazionali, regionali o dai regolamenti edilizi comunali, in merito alle distanze minime tra edifici, alle distanze minime di protezione del nastro stradale, nonche' alle altezze massime degli edifici.

description_ The urbanistic plan CR_36sub1 was a 22.000 square-meter area located by the coast and was aimed to the realisation of a 6.000 square-meter housing and 2.000 square-meter commercial. The plan sought to build two residential towers of 15 floors each facing a common square enclosed by 3 commercial buildings of 4 floors. This architectural typology enhanced the surrounding landscape. The residential construction and the stores benefited from the inner common space. Moreover, the tower as type of structure emphasize the complex as the key point of an area without any other urban references.

description_ This intervention promoted the retrofitting of an old detached house and followed different stages. Firstly, the plan remodelled the facades and simplified the volumes to better adapt them to the surrounding space. The structural failures, noticed during the works, were adjusted with a new structure and the walls have been completely dismantled and rebuilt in order to improve the acoustic and heating comfort. Moreover, eco-friendly materials were chosen not only for the construction of the building itself, but also for the external areas where retaining walls have been replaced with naturalistic engineering. Finally, the new balconies and windows enhance the valley landscape.

description_ The design comes from the need of a modular stair, removable, easily transportable and adaptable to different spatial compositions. The elements of the construction have to be retrievable only by a CNC and a bending machine; bars obtained draw a beam with the function the structure of the scale. Even with the strong industrial style that characterizes it, the stair can be customized with the material used for the steps and finishing of steel.

description_ The project of the dissertation was focused on the refurbishment of the former industrial building of PASTIFICIO AMATO, with special reference to the pasta factory. The idea of converting the building into a school brought the entire structure into question. Maintaining the frame and the masonry unchanged, the plan was aimed to build a raising in order to extend the floor and realize the requested number of classrooms. Furthermore, a new courtyard was planned to link the school to the square as well as to enable the right ventilation of the environments. Lastly, the plan of new surfaces and structural facades allowed the building to gain the highest level of energetic, thermal and acoustic comfort.

description_ The plan intended to redevelop the Bourbon harbour of Granatello (Portici, Napoli). The new shore line and promenade connected the old town to the new one, mending the urban fabric. Thereafter, the laboratory course switched the attention from the urban study to the choice of a new referent point for the area. The new maritime station, a removable structure of low environmental impact, appeared as a ship that could be anchored in the port area. The structure in wool was completely outside the space for a better disposition of the offices and easier to assemblement.

description_ This laboratory turned the attention to a slum area of the city of Naples, with a focus on a former industrial site located in the proximity of residential districts. The plan contemplated the realisation of a new park through the refurbishment of an industrial plant. The introduction of a new building at the back of the old factory made it similar to a cathedral bringing new sense to the inner place.

description_ The laboratory course was focused on the east area of Naples, where an office district was located without being linked to the rest of the city. The lack of accommodations and leisure centres lead to the plan of a urban park with the construction of low environmental impact housings. Moreover, the project of a light overground made the area to be car free and raised the connection between different places. The analysis of the site, aimed to the construction of new figures, allowed to bring historical connection to light with the introduction of principal axis. A new site aware of the expanction of the moder city.
