The previous owner of this beautiful classic car had asked Paul if he would like to take on the car pending his retirement and was so excited at the opportunity to carry on the business he arranged the purchase some months later. Now with the help of Paul’s loving family he launched Classic Sapphire in April 2012 ensuring she stays in the wedding car business. In 1960 Armstrong Siddeley ceased production meaning this Star Sapphire was one of the last cars to be built and has been in use all of her 53 years only to be dismantled and fully restored some 25 years ago and remains in immaculate condition to this day. As Classic Sapphire is a family business Paul runs the business alongside his brother in-law who is a qualified mechanic and an expert in maintaining classic cars meaning she stays in tip top running order.

I cannot believe we are in September 2013 already! 2014 is nearly upon us and here at Fusion Flowers Birmingham our diary is filing up quite quickly! I am currently putting together some useful flower tips, flower planning and a step by step guide o share with you all soon but if you have any flowery questions or really want to know about something then please feel free to get in touch with Miss to Mrs Magazine if you have any floral questions you may have and I will be more than happy to answer the best way I can... Where to begin? So let’s break it down and write and list... Let’s start with the main Bridal PartyI think it’s important for the buttonholes to represent and show the bridal party accordingly. Here is how I would recommend buttonholes and show the bridal party of men, through flowers using the very popular Roses... Grooms Buttonhole... Choose something to reflect the bridal design. For example you are having a design consisting of Big headed White Avalanche Rose, Beargrass Loops and Diamante Crystal (very elegant!) so I would suggest your groom to have a double rose buttonhole, Beargrass loops and diamante crystal with silver wire binding the stem. Add something a little different like folded skeleton leaves, Medalino sticks, pussy willow, twig, twisted wire or berry. The grooms buttonhole is as important as the bridal design!

Best Man... Always good to use the same flower throughout all your buttonholes, so for your best man I would suggest a single rose, with beargrass loops, silver wire binding the stem but leave out the diamante as that touch of Bling represents the bride and groom!

Ushers, Dads, Grandad’s and Pageboys are still very important members of the Bridal Party. Including your bridal flower, in this case the beautiful Avalanche Rose, includes them in your party too. By presenting them with a simple Rose buttonhole with silver wire binding the stem, a small touch of ivy leaf or dark green soft Ruscus leaf, but leaving out the beargrass loops and diamante, you are still showing importance but also showing the bridal party structure. This design can be used for all Ushers, Dads and Granddads buttonholes. Using a smaller rose in the same shade of your design but on a safety pin badge brings in your page boys buttonhole, not only making them feel part of the bridal party but also matching your theme and making sure they are safe using a safety pin. Mom and Nan’s Corsage... Moms and Nan’s are so important to our bridal party and we need to make sure that their corsages not only match the bridal party but their outfits too! Keeping within the cream shades is always a good idea. Not only will this match your colour scheme, but match their outfits too!!!! Use smaller Spray Roses in their Corsage, or even a double or triple rose corsage using more foliage’s so it’s different to your grooms buttonhole too!

Alternatively, a wrist corsage can look so elegant and a nice keepsake of the wedding. Using Ivory or white pearls, diamante crystal or a colour to match your theme! I always advise my brides-to-be to be careful when ordering for the bridal guest party. Of course we can supply you with hundreds of carnation buttonholes but nobody knows your guests better than you. I’ve been to weddings where guests haven’t used the buttonholes and I have personally stood with baskets full of buttonholes still at the end of the ceremony. I’ll always advise you to think ahead and maybe use your budget more wisely; if you are sure all your guests will wear them they do look fabulous on photographs! Then go order for all but then be careful of the wedding politics! It’s difficult when you buy for one and not another! I hope this post has helped you understand buttonholes a little more! OO I couldn’t wait to start.. Helen looked like a true Queen of Cakes, in lovely pinks that complemented her blue eyes!!
At Miss to Mrs Magazine we have the privileged of meeting honest, genuine people that work within the wedding industry. But what makes our job a real joy is meeting lovely people and being able to work with them closely.. Daisychain Cupcakery has advertised with us before and we have been delighted to receive lovely images of yummy cakes, which we unfortunately do not have to hand when the cravings strike! However.. It was me (Michelle) the other qaurter of Miss to Mrs HQ that was called in to provide professional quality photography, and boy was I in for a treat. The date was set after a lovely phone call with Helen, where we disscused ideas and concepts regarding the front cover and the overall theme we wanted to portray. Now I have a love of vintage and can’t help but be drawn to this style… but in this case it was just perfect. If you have never heard of Cheese-cake Pin up, well that was my main inspiration.. along with the Mad Hatters Tea Party. To achieve the over all look, we felt it was important to have the collaboration of other business’s and artists. I therefore contacted fellow friends, Retro Makeover (Vintage MUAH) Gaby Hunt (MUA) with props from the lovely Maison Hats de Cantern (the cupcake hat, vintage suitcases) Old Skool Retro kitch Boutique (record cake stands & Bunting). Without there finishing touches the shoot would have been left a little drab, so our thanks to these lovely people for their support. As Helen arrived for her makeover and transformation, we emptied her car of every colour cake you can

We set to work with the weather in our favour.. and before long we had achieved all we could.. each image looking tasty, vibrant and enticing. I had achieved the goal I had set in my head. A image that represented summer, picnics, fun, rainbows… and most of all the most beautiful cakes. As we packed away Helen offered us cakes…… yes speechless! They were light, moist and very tasty. My favourite was the lemon cupcake, my family loved them too! Thank you Helen. Helen’s aim is to create clients their dream cakes.. while ressuring and guiding them with her expertise and talents. Her cakes include dairy free cakes, eggless, gluten and nut free, soya, vegan and diabecticfriendly alternatives. As she belives no one should go without the enjoyment of eating good cake, no matter what dietrary requirements they may have, without silly prices to boot! Helen is very pleasent to talk to, along with acomedating. When I told Helen my ideas I wasn’t sure what I really wanted. But with her help she was able to understand my ideas to the full. With team work we were able to achieve fantastic results, that were a pleasure to edit!!

Not sure where to start.. How do you choose? Choosing your reception venue is probably the most important decision you need to make so early on. If you’re having a summer ceremony, in particular if it’s on a Saturday in August, you need to book at least a year in advance, if not eighteen months. Some popular venues are booked years ahead for summer dates. If you’re happy to have a weekday or Sunday wedding it will be cheaper and there will be less demand for those days. Thankfully, a lot of the places licensed for civil partnership ceremonies also double as reception venues too. The theme will have a big impact on your choice - or perhaps the perfect venue will set your theme. If you’re expecting a large number of guests that might eliminate some possibilities immediately as some venues can only cater for small numbers, especially some of the more quirky locations like converted mills and old farm houses. Budget is of course a factor, no good blowing all of it on a venue and not having enough left to feed the guests! The other factor to consider is easy access if you have any friends or family with mobility issues. One of the most important things to remember when arranging your reception venue is to check exactly what is included in any quote price, and whether the dreaded VAT is included. By styling events and weddings for friends and family, they found that their talents in event styling were generating lots of positive feedback, not only from guests but also from suppliers too. With Shelley experienced in marketing, event planning and interior design, and Sheena having a fashion design background, they make a perfect creative team. Constantly researching and developing vintage styles, they love using pieces from every era, from the 1920s-1960s. If desired, they will style your wedding to a specific era. Following an initial styling consultation, Boris and Betty will present you with a mood-board using a range of colours, materials and clippings from various wedding, fashion and interior magazines. This is the starting point to generate ideas and inspire your theme. Boris and Betty aspire to create the perfect wedding for you, with the aim to providing perfectly dressed tables and lovely accessories to suit your theme.
