12 creative things to keep people busy on a boring rainy day By Kylie Schatmeyer, Copy Editor With spring right around the corner, we all know a rainy day is inevitable. Usually the go-to activity for a lousy day like today is to suit up in your PJ’s and hide under a blanket, but there are so many opportunities you need to take advantage of on rainy days. When you’re stuck indoors refer to this list as something to keep you busy and out of the rainy day slump. 1. Go to a movie and get lost in the buttery popcorn. With so many terrific movies premiering this year, go out and get lost in a great story. 2. Online shopping. Nothing feels as good as treating yourself, and after a few days, when your item shows up, it’ll feel like Christmas morning in April. 3. Restaurant hopping. Go to one restaurant and order an appetizer; go to another restaurant and try an entree and at the final restaurant, try a yummy dessert. Fun and simple. This keeps you moving while trying a bunch of new meals that could become your favorite. 4. Go to a museum. Living so close to the city, it’s easy to forget how lucky we are to be so close to amaz-

the Garfield Park Conservatory. 8. Go to the gym or have an at home workout. There are so many YouTube videos or workout videos on TV to mix up your regular workout routine. Get your move on this rainy day instead of being a couch potato. 9. Embrace spring cleaning. Let’s face it, we all let our messes pile up all winter. On a rainy spring day, finally cleaning and organizing the house will make you feel relaxed and stress free. 10. Catch up (binge watch) your Netflix TV shows. Doing this when it is a beautiful day outside may cause feelings of guilt. Well, not today. It is perfectly acceptable to spend the whole rainy day finishing all seven seasons of “Shameless.” 11. Pick up a good book. This is an old trick that people completely disregard now-a-days. With the rain beating on the windows, snuggling under a blanket with some hot tea and a good book is the perfect way to spend the day. 12. Stop procrastinating and get things done that you’ve been putting off. This is a great time to get organized. Make a to-do list and start checking things off.
