Banquette Elevation
Banquette Seating The Banquette Seating and Sushi Bar share the main dining area. A custom wall feature behind the banquette is the focal point of this room, taking a traditional Japanese pattern to a larger scale with the dark-stained mahogany. Behind the pattern is a modern painting on transluscent plexiglass. It is lit from behind to create a soft but stimulating effect.

Petersen Consulting Petersen Consulting is a new, young consulting firm located in Madison, WI. For this project they wanted a space that would build strong personal business relationships where learning takes place through teamwork.
Concept Diagram
The concept of energy is created by several methods, one being color.
Some of the more unique and contemporary attributes they are seeking in a space are concepts such as hoteling, hot-desking and free address.
Green is a very stimulating color, while blue grounds the scheme with its tranquil aura. By using highly saturated blues and greens, one senses the energy of the office and is inspired to act.
They wish to incorporate new ideas concerning office interaction, promoting ease of communication and function.
Materials that force the eye to move around are used throughout the space, igniting energy in the mind.
They especially wanted to emphasize teamwork, energy and better movement throughout the space in the new design.

The Hub All employees in the building use some of the same areas such as the copy bay, library and kitchen.
Office Design
These spaces are given extra attention to ignite conversation and comradery. This is done with plentiful casual seating for impromptu meetings and vibrant materials.
Hub/Louge Perspective In a dynamic consulting firm, all employees need to be able to connect and communicate with others in the office for collaborative projects. Having individualized team spaces as well as common spaces, employees can feel a sense of teamwork when in their team space and a sense of connection with the whole company. Design solutions such as the green circle floor pattern continuing around reception and other areas connects these areas in a visual way, fostering teamwork for employees working in different sections. Manager Workstations
Materials
Materials help emphasize the concepts of energy and movement with a veriety of textures and patterns to move the eye. Knoll textiles were used, along with Oceanside mosaic tiles and natural cork flooring in a speckled pattern.
Petersen Consulting Hot Spot Seating
Through the use of the circle as a dominating force on the plan, natural movement is achieved as employees feel the draw of the curve pulling or pushing them through the space. There are limited strait walls and most spaces are slightly separated by curved wall sections, Inspiring movement as they look around.

Hallways were designed with files inset into wall, creating a flush, smooth walkway. This also serves as a ledge on the opposite side protruding in the office. Clearstory windows run throughout the building to let natural light through the space.

Thermae Ultralounge
The term Thermae was a word the ancient Romans used for buildings housing their public baths. Most Roman cities had at least one, if not many, such buildings which were centers of public bathing and socialization. Today, Thermae is an environment where young professionals and socialites can gather to experience the best in a hip, moody lounge. Perspective
