BRIEFS Restaurant, Scouts team up to raise money for camp Bandito’s California Style Mexican Restaurant is teaming up with Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan to raise funds for Girl Scout camp. Customers dining at Bandito’s can have 15 percent of their purchase donated now through May 23. Diners must indicate that they would like to Dine to Donate to Girl Scouts. Bandito’s is located at 216 Fourth Ave. in downtown Ann Arbor. Last year, Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan provided $71,000 in financial assistance for 571 girls in scouting to attend its summer camp program. Milan resident earns bachelor’s degree from Sierra Nevada Kresten Ronald Sakstrup of Milan graduated from Sierra Nevada College at Lake Tahoe, a private fouryear liberal arts college located in northern Nevada, May 15. Sakstrup earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration while majoring in entrepreneurship and international studies. He plans to spend the summer as a World Cup 2010 intern in South Africa. Sakstrup is considering law school or graduate school prior to starting his own entrepreneurship business. CITY OF SALINE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Saline City Council will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed budget for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at the Saline Municipal Building, 100 North Harris Street, Saline, MI. The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

To allow the use of the property at 103 E. Michigan Avenue, Saline, for an outdoor café service area at the rear of the property (not on Michigan Avenue) in a C-1 Central Business District. Saline City Tax Code 18-18-01-110-004 and 18-18-01110-006.

The proposed budget will be available for public inspection during business hours beginning Thursday, May 20, 2010 in the lobby of the Saline Municipal Building, 100 North Harris Street, Saline, MI, and also at the Saline District Library, 555 N. Maple Road, Saline, MI.

Written comments on the above application will be received in the office of the City Clerk, 100 N. Harris Street, Saline, MI, prior to the closing of the public hearing.

Any City resident who has comments on the City of Saline’s proposed budget for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year may submit their comments in writing to the City Clerk prior to the public hearing, or make comments in person during the Public Hearing. After the hearing, the proposed 20102011 Budget (General Appropriations Act) will be acted upon for adoption.
