Ann Arbor St. Saline, MI 48176 Telephone: 944-0442 Built in 1870, the Saline Railroad Depot, with its freight house, telegraph, and passenger facilities, served as a crucial link in the economic transformation that took place between Saline’s rural hinterlands and the outside world. The railroad stopped running in 1961. Accepted to the National Historic Register in 1995, the historical society dedicated the depot as a museum and has conducted tours and housed relics there ever since. The historical society has launched its Brick and Block Program selling engraved bricks and foundation blocks to raise money for major projects at the railroad depot museum. Bricks and blocks will be installed to recreate the former passenger room floor at the west entry of the depot building. Brick pavers are $100 and foundation blocks are $1,000. Request a form by contacting the Society. The depot museum is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
