Crock Pot California Chicken
This chicken recipe will bring you the taste of California in your own home. Among many crockpot cooking recipes, this is one of my favourites. The mixture of sweet, sour, tangy, spicy, and salty makes an extraordinary tasting chicken. Ingredients: 1 (3 lb.) chicken (quartered) 1 cup orange juice 1/3 cup chili sauce 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon molasses 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1 teaspoon garlic salt 2 tablespoons chopped green peppers 3 medium oranges (peeled and slices separated; alternatively, 13 ½ oz. canned mandarin oranges)
Procedures: 1. Place the chicken inside the crock pot.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together orange juice, chili sauce, soy sauce, molasses, mustard, and garlic salt. Pour over the top of the chicken. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours. 3. Pour the green peppers and oranges into the crock pot and stir in. Cook for an additional half hour.
