FACE SHAPES AND COMPLEMENTARY JEWELRY Round:
Oblong, rectangular and straight shapes work to slenderize and elongate the face. Avoid large round earrings like button earrings; they will only emphasize the roundness of the face. Oblong and v-shaped necklaces again elongate a round face.
Oval:
Most shapes will work with an oval face. Dangles and triangles are particularly flattering. Rounder-shaped necklaces will work best. Chokers flatter if neck is long with a small to medium bust.
Square:
Oval and oblong earrings and hoops soften the lines of a square face and make it look rounder. Avoid chunky earrings that are square-shaped; they’ll only emphasize the shape of the face. Oblong and round necklaces are most flattering. Avoid chokers.
Heart:
Since this face shape is wider at the top and narrow on the bottom, earrings that are the opposite of this shape are most flattering. Avoid earrings that come to a point. Oblong and round necklaces are flattering. Also, chokers balance the narrowness at the bottom of this face shape.
Diamond:
Round, oval or oblong earrings and hoops will soften and elongate the diamond-shaped face. Avoid diamond shapes, which will further emphasize the angles of this face shape. Oblong and round necklaces are most flattering.
Oblong:
Hoops work well to add width and shorten the face. Straight angles and elongated styles will only emphasize length. Round earrings help add width. A choker adds width to a narrow face.

NECKLACE LENGTHS Collar:
The shortest of them all, a collar necklace (12-13”) encircles the throat rather than falling on the chest. A great look if you have a thin neck.

Slightly longer than collar necklaces, chokers are 15-16” long. Both collar and choker necklaces draw attention to your neck and jawline.
Princess:
The most popular length ranges from 17-19” and typically sits a couple inches below the collar bone. Princess necklaces look great with crew necks as well as a plunging neckline.

Matinee:
Ranging from 20-25", matinee necklaces stop at or near the top of the cleavage. Avoid wearing an embellished top that may clash with it.
Opera:
Long, elegant opera necklaces are typically 28-33”and draw the eye down to your chest and away from your neck - a good choice if you prefer your bustline to your neckline! However, avoid having the necklace end at the fullest part of your midsection - it will emphasize this area.
Lariat (also called a rope necklace): 40-45" long and can be doubled or tripled. If worn long, they draw attention to your curves, causing the eye to sweep down your torso.

SWAROVSKI STONE EFFECTS Several Touchstone Crystal jewels feature stones and effects that were created from Swarovski collaborations with top fashion icons, such as Christian Dior and Coco Chanel. For example, Swarovski created the Aurore Boreale effect (shown below in Reverie Bracelet), a special coating applied to a crystal to reflect a variety of colors, for Christian Dior himself! PLATING
Touchstone Crystal’s jewelry is plated with rhodium, antique bronze, palladium, ruthenium, hematite, silver ox, IP gold, brass ox, silver or gold. Plating refers to the top layer of metal on a piece of jewelry. For instance, if the top layer is rhodium, we would say that the piece is rhodium-plated. The metal is applied using a method called electroplating. The piece of jewelry is placed in a solution containing the metal to be applied, and an electrical current is passed through them both. Plating is important on all of our jewels to keep them looking great, but our rings and bracelets are given extra attention as they tend to be most susceptible to wear and tear.
Platinum Group Rhodium, palladium and ruthenium belong to what is known as the platinum group of metals. These are frequently used for Touchstone Crystal jewelry.
