What started out as a passion for installing glass in vehicles, turned into a fulfilling career when owner Justin Eimers realized that glass was his entire future. “This was an occupation I was not going to get bored with as there are so many things to do with glass,” Justin smiles.
Glass can really transform a room, and Justin and his team understand the importance of quality products, installation, and overall customer experience.
Justin adds, “Glass Doctor is very unique in how we really cater to the residential homeowner with glass in their entire home. Whether it’s mirrors, showers, glass tabletops, or so much more. We do all things glass - Home, Auto and Business! We have installed over 10,000 showers, so when it comes to glass, we are the ones to call!”
The company has been running in the Sioux Falls area for more than 15 years and customers trust their reputation. It’s not just the customers though. Loyalty runs deep at Glass Doctor, and that dedication is shown with both customers and staff. Pamela was Justin’s first employee, and she has remained with the company ever since. When Justin started hiring additional employees, Tony came onto the team shortly after Pamela and continues to work with Glass Doctor today.
Sales Associate and Social Media Manager, Tiffany says, “Both are still an essential part of the company and together offer a wealth of knowledge in the industry.”
Crunching the numbers, Tiffany explains that auto, residential, and commercial glass projects are fairly even on the number of projects throughout the year. “The company started on auto and most recently added commercial work, but between the three sides of the business, it is consistently busy,” she adds.
Over the years, customers have been leaning toward the trend of becoming more unique and stylized. While the main purpose of glass is to add a certain brightness and glow to a space, it also elevates a room or home. Tiffany explains, “With Glass Doctor, our clients can completely customize glass to create a look and configuration that best suits their exact needs and preferences.”
Recently, there have been several fun projects the team has completed. “People get so creative,” Tiffany adds. “We have installed glass for wine rooms, a dog wash station, and closed in offices in-home!”
The dog station was the first project of its kind. Think of a shower, but on a much smaller scale. The clients wanted an area to clean up their furry friends without dragging too much dirt and mud throughout the home. The glass swinging doors keep the pets contained and are easy to operate when getting them in and out of the designated space.
With so many different layouts in modern homes, the ideas are endless. Nooks under stairs are becoming a neat space to customize. New builds are blank slates where
each homeowner can put their own spin on glass and the overall look of the home.
“Folks that work from home are able to separate their work space in an elegant design while cornering off an area as dedicated
space, and the glass can serve as a kind of sound barrier so life can continue outside of the glass box for anyone else in the home,” Tiffany explains. The closed off look utilizing glass still keeps the trending “open” floor plan illusion at the forefront while giving off a beautiful and luxurious vibe.
Whatever your glass needs are, the first step in the custom design process is the initial project overhaul meeting. Sitting down with the team, clients walk through what their starting point is all the way to what the final vision is. Throughout the process Glass Doctor professionals offer suggestions and options from the kinds of glass, types of finish, and even the hardware that would be included on the glass itself like the handles and hinges on doors.
Following that, a technician is set up to check out the space first-hand to provide a more comprehensive quote for the project. The technician also brings back the measurements so the design team can create mockups to share with the clients.
Glass Doctor does have a showroom to provide a sample to clients. It serves as a starting point where they can really dream up the full picture. Tiffany says, “The showroom includes displays of shower doors so clients can decide between swinging vs. sliding as well as types of glass from gray tinted to grid lines, frosted tints, or rain glass.”
Popping up in more shower projects is the customization of that tint or pattern on the glass itself. “Black grid lines on any clear door can mimic and complement the tile and design in the bathroom space,” Tiffany shares. Sometimes a project will install with clear glass, but then choose to add a tint or grid after to add visual interest.
The gridlines can be color matched to any hardware or tile, but most commonly, customers choose a modern, solid black. When it comes to tinting, there are a few options as well from full to partial or a simple strip in the middle for modest coverage. “Everything we do here is typically custom. There’s not a set standard size or style,” Tiffany proudly explains.
As long as the bathroom or project space is ready for install, the project can be completed with a relatively quick turnaround.
While Glass Doctor does offer repair and maintenance services, there are a few things you can do in your home to keep up with your windows. Following these few tips can increase the life of the glass in your home. For starters, instead of an apple a day, dust your glass regularly with a microfiber cloth to prevent buildup to keep the doctor away.
• Equally important, you want to avoid exposing the glass to hot objects or cold water immediately after exposure to heat. With your shower glass, use a rubber-edged squeegee to prevent water spots and streaks from forming.
• Lastly, always remember to choose a glass cleaner specifically designed for tempered glass. If you’ve run out or forgot to get some at the store, just mix up an equal part water to white-vinegar solution and apply it like normal.
• If you need something more than regular maintenance, Glass Doctor is ready for your call.

This brand-new construction by Tschetter Construction in the Mystic Heights Addition subdivision is a masterpiece of design and luxury! If you are looking to eliminate stairs without compromising on elegance, this stunning, modern-farmhouse ranch is the perfect choice.
This custom home at 6613 E. Corsair Drive is a spectacular 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom slab-on-grade home with an oversized and heated 3-stall garage. The builder has used the most up-to-date, contemporary materials, contrasted by the warm, traditional accents of wood and stone. The details are apparent in the curb appeal, where you can see the clean, white vertical wood trims, accented in white facia and eaves, and then punctuated by the black window trims, garage doors, and a spacious covered front porch and welcoming entry door.
John and Judy Tschetter, the husband-and-wife team at Tschetter Construction, are proud to be a family owned and operated business that specializes in building dream homes in the Sioux Falls and surrounding area, bringing only the most qualified craftsmen to your project. John is on-site during your home build to assure quality workmanship, and his attention to detail is evident in the distinctive features of this beautiful new home.
The foundation and entry way are accented with warm-toned natural stone and the entry door opens to a cozy area with a large, bright L-shaped, open floor plan. The living room draws you in, with a gorgeous floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace wall as the centerpiece of the room, flanked by floating wood shelves on either side and a rich, black wall behind. The vaulted ceiling is accented with warm wood beams, recessed lighting, and a centered black and goldtoned ceiling fan. On the far wall, the large windows with transom windows above add an expansive feeling. The beautiful wide-plank, warm wood LVP flooring unifies the space. Remarkably, all the floors throughout the home and in the garage are heated, ensuring year-round comfort.
The kitchen is the heart of the home, and the space is divided by a large kitchen island with seating space on one side and a spacious work area on the other. The modern version of a farmhouse sink is centered with the trash pull-out and dishwasher on each side. The clean, white Quartz countertop, with waterfall edge details, is a perfect backdrop for the gold-toned plumbing fixtures and the area is highlighted by stunning black and gold pendant lighting.
The top-of-the-line GE Café kitchen appliances feature the new matte-black finish, adding drama to the beautiful combination of custom-painted, black and white cabinetry with stained warm-wood tones. The light brick tiles in the backsplash extend the light color of the countertops and keep the kitchen feeling bright. The adjacent door melds with the cabinetry and opens into an amazing full walk-in pantry.
In the dining room there is an elegant coordinating black and gold chandelier and space for a family-sized dining set. The conveniently placed glass panel door to the outside creates natural party flow out to the large, covered patio area with vaulted ceiling. The exterior is fully landscaped with sod, rock, and a sprinkler system, ensuring that the yard is as beautifully maintained as the home itself.
This 1,908-square-foot home also includes plenty of bonus spaces. Off the main entry hall is a bright room with a single floor-to-ceiling black wall detail, perfect for a home office or retreat. A functional laundry room with a large hexagon tile floor and great built-in storage with a laundry sink and a hanging drying bar awaits in the mud room just off the oversized garage. It also features a stained wood bench, convenient storage, and an intricate custom hanging space for coats and backpacks.
The bedrooms are carpeted with a cozy feeling and are easy to care for. The primary bedroom is a large and gracious retreat, with a walk-in closet and stunning private bathroom. The bathroom floor tile is contemporary, clean, and light, leading into an oversized walk-in shower with a decorative tile feature wall. The vanity is creatively designed to maximize storage, with a solid surface countertop and double sinks. All the elements are punctuated by the champagne gold-toned plumbing fixtures and cabinet pulls, decorative mirrors, and contemporary wall sconces.
John and Judy Tschetter work hands-on in building and coordinating with all of the people involved in every home project. “We take care of the entire building process from start to finish to make sure everything runs smoothly,” Judy says. “We start with a plan and finish with the completed project!”
John Tschetter and his crew have been roofing and building quality homes since 1996. “We pride ourselves as quality builders with great attention to detail,” John adds.
If you are considering renovating your home, there are many things to think about before you start. You have to consider what you want your home to look like and then figure out how to make it happen. If you plan to redo an existing space, you have to take into account what you have already done. This means that if you have a kitchen with a certain color scheme, you may need to change it if you want to update the entire room. If you are doing new construction, you will have to consider the style of the house as well as the style of the neighborhood.
When planning the renovation of your home, it’s important to decide where you want to spend most of your time. Do you want a home office? A playroom for your children? A master bedroom? Think about how you want your home to be used so that you can create an appropriate interior design plan.
Once a decision has been made on the layout of the rooms in your home, you need to determine how much storage space is needed and what types of furniture to use. For example, if you want to add a family room, you will need to know how much space is available and how much room is required.

When decorating, think about which colors will work best in each room. Consider how much light is needed along with how much natural light is available. If you live in a sunny area, you may want to paint the walls a lighter color to reflect the sunlight. Window placement is also important to let in as much light as possible.
When designing your home, it is crucial to consider your budget. Plan for furniture choices, appliances, and other larger items as well as accessories and statement pieces.

This custom home at 427 Bunyan Drive in Harrisburg was featured in the 2024 Spring Parade of Homes and built by the experienced and well-trained team at Dustin Hoffman Construction. The approach to this 2,897 square feet single-family home is dramatic, with horizontal clapboard siding in a light cream tone which contrasts the clean, crisp, black window and door frames, roof, painted eaves, garage doors, and trims. The light and dark tones come together in the stack stone details accenting the foundation.
From the street, this 5-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home with a 3-car epoxy floor garage looks like a Ranch style, but upon entering you’ll find the home is split into two floors with numerous possibilities to use the spaces on each level. The lower level is completely finished and ready to move in.
Entering through the custom black and glass front doors into the light-filled, open concept floor plan, you’ll see the dramatic contrasts of black and cream continue throughout the interior. The windows on both levels of

the home are expansive, letting in abundant light throughout. The windows and doors are framed in black, making each view to the outside look like a piece of art.
With a separate entry hall area framing the front doors, you’ll be struck by the open and airy living room, dining room, and kitchen space. The warmth of the LVP woodtoned flooring connects all the spaces. The living room is anchored by a rich, black satin wall and fireplace façade, with a deep mantle waiting for your large screen TV or favorite paintings. There is a contemporary ceiling fan in the main living area, where the raised soffit is accented by creatively placed black, wooden slats.
Across the open space is the kitchen where the custom, two-toned, black and naturalwood cabinets playfully contrast the black and white countertops. There is a large eating island with space for four, and the family chef and clean-up crew will always be a part of the action as the sink and dishwasher are located in the center. The appliances are a
striking combination of stainless steel and black, and black faucets, sink, and hanging pendants complete the look. Centered in the kitchen is the door to the spacious, oversized, walk-in pantry.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area with room for a large table under the beautiful, modern chandelier in a warm gold tone. Even the door to the covered patio outside adds light with a large glass panel.
The powder room has an elegant charm with its combination of wood-toned cabinetry, white vanity top and wall trim details, plus whimsical wallpaper combining all the warm and cool tones. The decorative mirror is flanked on either side by wall sconces for perfect balance and light.
The primary bedroom suite is on the south side of the house, featuring lush carpeting and a spacious ensuite bathroom and walkin closet. The light, marbled porcelain tile gives the bathroom an elevated feel, and the wood-toned custom cabinets add warmth, while the gold-toned plumbing fixtures and wall sconces add richness. The large walk-in shower has a combination of marble tiles with inset mosaic details and a natural pebble floor in coordinating greys, browns, and whites.
On the lower level there is a generous, open space with large windows that can be used as a family room, office, play space, or entertainment area. It is carpeted for warmth and a cozy feel. The same material choices as the upper floor were used in the full bathroom, plus a soaking tub. Recessed lighting throughout the home makes it feel bright and welcoming at any time, night or day.
“Each member of our staff is fully capable of assisting with your projects from start to finish and to make sure the job is completed efficiently and correctly,” says Dustin Hoffman, owner. “We treat every project as an opportunity to earn your recommendation and continued business. Our team is highly motivated to make sure your project is successful according to your desires.”

When you knock down the walls between rooms and open the space up, there will be no more barriers to the light cast into your home through the windows. Without any walls blocking the sunshine, your home will be brighter every day.
Having more sunshine in your home will also brighten your mood.
Rays of sun slicing into your kitchen in the morning and your sitting room will lighten your mood. Sunshine in your home makes your home look and feel better. Who wants to miss out on that?
Connecting your indoor and outdoor spaces is a critical part of any floor plan, oft-overlooked. The open concept applies to more than just the indoor space in your home. The goal is to make the entire experience of your living space an entity that flows from outside to inside and from room to room seamlessly.
Making a more seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces is more convenient, and in warm weather, it feels nice to be able to walk in and out without barriers in the way. A remodeling project offers countless possibilities. Make the most of them, and don’t forget to consider all the potential options for your space.
In a big space, the possibility of rearranging your furniture will not stretch the imagination. There will be endless ways to rearrange things.
Besides things like kitchen appliances that will be firmly in place, all your other furniture can be subject to moving around as much as possible.
Moving your furniture won’t be as much of a hassle either. You can freely slide your furniture around in big open spaces without getting hung up on any walls or corners. Try different things out, and you’ll enjoy a completely new way of enjoying your home.
Another focus of open concept floor plans is the efficiency of space and air flow in your home. When your remodeler puts maximizing the square footage at the forefront of the design process, you’ll come out of the project with a space that feels much larger.
A good remodeler won’t compromise any convenience of the normal amenities when designing an open concept plan, either. You’ll still be able to enjoy your kitchen, living room, etc., but it will be appreciated in an open space where everyone can be together doing different tasks. The open concept home you will be enjoying after your remodeling project will be brighter, more fun to live in and redecorate, and it will have fresher air. It’s truly the best of all worlds.
