疼痛 “The Pain” I’m scared, everybody doesn't like me because of my class status. Some of my friends that i’ve known for years act like they do not know me. Please I need help. 每個人都有自由 “Everyone is Free”
Like most people, countries are born free. A leader of a country can choose to leave the country free or to lock it up like a bird in a cage. In China, our leader, Chairman Mao, choose to lock us up like birds in a cage. In China the people should be able to express what it is that they want to do. They have to let people spread their wings. In China, people should be able to decide what it is that they want to do with their life. Chairman Mao is treating the people like birds that are looked up. A bird was made with wings so that they can fly, humans were born with a brain so that they could think for themselves. Nobody should be able to burst into your house, just because they feel like it and take things that they consider to be “four olds.” Also, people should not get beaten up just because they were American made pants, or listen to foreign radio. We, the people of China have a voice that Chairman Mao is not letting us express. Life in China is tough, but we, the people of China can fight through this. We will establish equality for all. We will not let people get picked on because their ancestors were Landlords. We have the tools to stop it, we just have to learn how to use them. We do not need luck on our side, we just need faith
西礽之旅 “Xi-Reng’s Journey” September, 1966: Ji-Li came home from school asking if she could be a Liberation Army Dance. I said no. I just can’t imagine the fact of those monsters brainwashing my poor Ji-Li. I didn't care about how much she cried, this was not me being mean, this was about me doing what was good for the family. It was my decision, and my decision was final… June, 1967: I don’t know what is going on, I’m scared I don’t know what is going on. All I know is that as soon as i got home I was handcuffed and taken away. They say that it is because I have been listening to foreign radio. But that is false. I miss my family and the normal life that I used to have… January, 1968: They have liberated me, but only for a short amount of time. The officer said that I was only allowed to go to my house to get clothes and I had to come back. I wanted to do it as fast as I could. I did not want my family to see me crying. Especially Ji-Li. I was terrified to go, but I could not fight it, I had to do what was asked of me.
About The Author
I am Michel Wakil. I was born and Raised in Maracay Venezuela. I moved to the United States when I was 11 years old. I attend Gulliver Schools. Were I can enjoy a variety of different
classes.
My favorite thing to do is play soccer at Gulliver. My opinion in the book Red Scarf Girl is that I found for it to be an okay book. Im saying that because the book only focuses on Ji-Li’s opinion of the Cultural Revolution. I would not recomend this book to my friends because the book has more negative thoughts than positive thoughts.
