BASE FEATURES

SPEED V-TECH V-Tech adapted for a faster moving ski. Curves in the “V” shaped steps disrupt more flow in the center of the tunnel and less along the edge. This reduces overall drag while maintaining edge hold. V-TECH V-Tech is the key to increased maneuverability and decreased drag. Six “V” shaped steps regulate the flow of water on the base of the ski by breaking up the wetted surface area from the front binding to the fin. In short, less water sticks to your ski as you accelerate forward. CONNELLY TRACKING SYSTEM A subtle spine feature on the tip of the ski helps keep the tip tracking straight while the boat starts to pull you up on deep water starts.

SKI LAY-UP 90/10 CARBON/GLASS Carbon is extremely light and super responsive. We combine that with 10% fiberglass which dampens vibration making slight chop feel like butter and drastically increasing the life of your ski. 50/50 CARBON/GLASS Blending an equal mix of carbon and fiberglass creates a fast, responsive ski with consistent, smooth flex that won’t chatter on imperfect water. FIBERGLASS Fiberglass tech has been around since the 60’s but advancements in layup, weave, and fiberglass properties give us the consistent flex, vibration dampening and light weight skis we have today. SKELECORE Skelecore is our new advanced polyurethane core shaping technique that reduces the overall mass of the core, allowing the fibers of the board to react quicker and more naturally.

TUNNEL SHAPE STANDARD TUNNEL A concave feature that runs the center length of the ski, setting it deeper in the water and giving the skier more edge hold. A standard tunnel leaves more flat surface between the edge of the tunnel and the bevel giving the ski more stability while maintaining edge hold. WIDE TUNNEL This tunnel design leaves an extremely narrow flat spot between the edge of the tunnel and the bevel of the ski. The effect is a ski that actively seeks to be on edge, most useful for experienced skiers and buoy chasers that have above average ski control. DOUBLE TUNNEL Simply put, the double tunnel is a tunnel within a tunnel. This unique design sets the ski deep in the water and gives extra bite when on edge.

Some of our skis feature performance enhancing layers. The 2019 GT-R and Carbon V feature carbon fiber and the V uses vector net. Both of these materials add unique strength characteristics to the fiberglass layers.

The reinforcing fibers used in the ski provide the strength and flex required to get you down the lake, whether you are just cruising or shredding buoys in a slalom course. We use different types, amounts and orientations of carbon and/or fiberglass depending on the skis intended use. Our high performance skis use carbon to provide the precision, control and explosive acceleration demanded by the high end skier. Our recreational skis use fiberglass for a more forgiving, less demanding ride, for those just looking to get out there and have a good time.

This designated layer of glass reinforces the connection between your ski and bindings, transferring response from you to your ski without any lost energy.

All our skis use M6 metric inserts giving you more threads in a smaller area. This allows a more secure connection with a shallower insert.

At the heart of the ski is the core. our upper end skis use a lightweight PVC core to provide the ultimate in weight reduction and resilience. Our recreational skis use polyurethane cores to provide a stable and durable foundation for the ski.

Not only does the base hold the graphic layer and provide UV protection, it also features specific textrures to help the ski perform at its best on the water, reducing drag and directing flow where it needs to go.

Our shapes are designed to be the perfect platform for your style of skiing. We achieve this by tuning the ski's width, flex, rocker, and bottom features to perform their absolute best within the speed range you ski. Narrow skis sit deeper in the water giving you more contact and control with less surface area. Less width also makes edge transitions faster, requiring less leverage, allowing quick turns, high angles and explosive speed. At slower speeds, more width is necessary to keep the ski in position so it can perform as intended. We use the same basic features our top end skis use, only tuned for slower speeds to maximize performance and control. Slower speeds give more control to the skier, providing a more stable and predictable ride.

GT-R Chasing buoys at the highest level requires a ski with a finely tuned balance of grip and speed. Building off of the geometries that led to the success of the GT we were able to create a ski that you feel drop down through the first half of the turn to create grip, and rise up after the apex, increasing acceleration. CARBON V

The Carbon V utilizes our latest core technology to push the performance of the ski to the next level. Skelecore, our advanced polyurethane shaping process, reduces the overall mass of the core to allow the fiber layers in the ski to react quicker and more naturally. The same forgiving fore-body and bevel design of the V paired with a light and snappy 50/50 carbon/glass layup create a perfect balance for running the course or carving open water.

The V first introduced our revolutionary V-Tech step base technology, a feature used on every Connelly ski designed since. For 2019 we upgraded our best recreational 30-34 mph ski with a layer of vector net. - MEN'S High-end shaping with a forgiving flex pattern is the recipe for a Concept ski that has been one of our most popular to date. X.C.A.P.T., our latest evolution in ski shaping, reduces the flex value of each section of the ski by reducing the thickness of the core as you move from the binding area out to the tip and tail. This allows the tip to drop in for smooth turn initiation while the flex in the tail finishes clean.

- WOMEN'S The Women’s Concept features our latest evolution of ski shaping, X.C.A.P.T. Variable thickness through the ski gives each section its own flex value tuned for a lighter, women’s frame. This intermediate ski is smooth and forgiving, with years of design experience poured into the mold. Smaller, lighter skiers will gain confidence and enjoy the ride more on properly sized gear. The Super Sport features our shaped ski concept with wide tip and tail for easier deep water starts. Beginners can also use the included front stabilizer bar to keep the skis in line and the proper distance apart. Remove the bar once they learn the basics to utilize the full performance of the skis.

The Cadet trainers are set up for a successful learning experience. A removable stabilizer bar system keeps the front and back of the skis in place, and is attached to the rope to take some load off of the child. The two handle Cadet rope lets an adult safely control the pull from the boat as well as drop the handle in case of a fall.

SYNC The Sync binding is one of our latest innovations aimed at making your gear work better for you. Solid plates can reduce the flex in a ski by 20-40%. The seamless outer shell and removable liner are cinched around your foot using upper and lower laces that pull your foot back into the ergonomically shaped heel pocket to create the most efficient connection between you and your ski. SHADOW - MEN'S Having the smallest foot in the boat no longer means the binding on the family ski doesn’t fit right. The Shadow binding uses a stretch panel in the toe which can expand or compress to ensure proper fit for a wide variety of sizes. The Lycra lined toe and heel wrap are molded to fit snug without causing pressure points. Our soft EVA footbed is set in a super-lite plate to keep you comfortable behind the boat. Some of our boards feature performance enhancing layers. The 2019 Dowdy uses vector net which adds unique strength characteristics to enhance the performance of the board.

The Reverb has turned into the unofficial Connelly team board. This shape has the ability to work with any riding style, whether it’s super technical or laid back and stylish. The deep center channel sets you slightly lower in the water increasing edge hold while carving into the wake. Subtle 3-stage rocker provides pop off the lip of the wake. The full length center spine, combined with V-Tech in the tip and tail, makes hard, flat landings easier to set down.

A. CUSH LINER Our dual durometer EVA Cush Liners are firm in key areas for support and longevity and soft around pressure points for lasting comfort.

STYLE SKIM Skim boards are designed to rely more on the rail, and less on the fins, for control much like their oceanic brethren. The loose, skate inspired aspects of a skim style make spins, ollies and shuvits much easier than thick boards with beefy fins. Every boat should have a skim in the ‘ol quiver. TAIL SHAPES SQUARE Square tails are wide offering a lot of surface area for a stable platform. They take a little more time transitioning edges making them perfect for beginners. ROUND The all-around performance shape. Water is able to wrap around the curve of the tail increasing traction, and the larger surface area keeps the board high on the water for maneuverability. DIAMOND Similar surface area compared to round tails keeps this shape high and maneuverable. The angle created at the rear part of the rail releases water for a faster overall feel.

ONO As boat wave technology improves we’re finding ourselves riding longer, taller waves that have more area to slay on. With all that room for radical activities it helps to have a board that can handle higher speeds, bigger carves, and more slash. Pulling design inspiration from our ocean riding brethren, the Ono has a longer running length, with more volume through the nose giving this board tons of push. Channels along the base direct water flow through a quad, or twin, fin setup for just the right amount of tracking.

FANG This shape allows for a longer rail in the tail of the board with less volume. In conjunction with the channels on the base of the board water releases from these points for a fast and loose feel. FISH The two points of the fish tail, in a way, act as two separate tails. Water flows along the rail to the furthest point back on the board for a stable ride. Removing the space between the tips keeps it maneuverable. SWALLOW Swallow tails increase the turning arcs in boards that have a wider tail shape. Width in the tail adds to push and stability and is balanced by the mobility in the swallow shape. WING A wing is technically a rail feature. This shape is a turning in of the rail, usually around the fin, that releases water at the dip as oppose to the tail, creating a looser feel.

FINS QUAD The need-for-speed fins setup. Two front fins are accompanied by two smaller rear fins. Both sets are flat foil allowing water to pass through the centerline without resistance while the curved outer surface creates lift and hold into the face of the wave. TRI Possibly the most common surf fin setup of all time. A large center fin provides superior tracking while the two flat foil side fins generate speed and hold in the face of the wave. TWIN With no center fin there’s less resistance through the middle of the board allowing more speed. Easy to break free on a slash, but grippy enough hold on the bottom turn. SKATE The Skate fin setup has been used in our line since we started making surfers for its reliability, ease-of-use and ability to customize. Use all three fins for a stable ride, remove the center fin for a twin fin feel, or pull the side fins for a skim style setup. SKIM For those that like to play it fast and loose. This setup releases super easy making tricks like spinning and ollies easy to initiate.

One of the first things you feel while riding the all new Cuda is a nice, stable drive on the wave. When you start to move it around you realize this fishy has some moves. Fish style surfers have an uncanny ability to hold a big, strong edge while carving. This is derived by a unique shape that essentially acts as two separate tails on the same board. Reducing the area between the two points in the tail causes the board to turn from edge to edge with less effort creating a very lively shape.

The Bentley features a brand new construction process to the Connelly surf line. Thermo Shell combines compression molded durability with the lightweight, high-performance capabilities of an epoxy board. Shaped using a hybrid skim/surf design the Bentley is fast and maneuverable, outperforming boards that are twice the cost. Ding-free soft construction meets real wave riding performance with the Laguna. Dual wood stringers run the length of the board, and reinforced top and bottom sheets help maintain rigidity.
