The Turbine has proven that if you want to stay on the water and still have fun in 5-6 knots, your kite has to be light. We’ve had hard core freestyle riders like Eric Rienstra hitting kickers with next to no wind, riders in coastal swell shredding from dawn to dusk and local freeride guys who have the Gorge all to themselves long after everyone else has gone home - all on the Turbine.

In the wing tips, Free-Twist Tip Technology increases the narrow wind range of a large kites by positioning the bridal attachment points to let the wingtips freely pivot. This allows the trailing edge leech panel to open and twist when overpowered to prevent stall in light wind. The result is a lighter, faster feel with a wide apparent wind range and quick turning radius for such a large kite.

Our progressive “Open Delta C” design geometry, makes it more efficient and faster in light wind much like a high performance glider or wind turbine wing, improving lift through kite speed and allowing the Turbine to fly farther forward in the window.

The Turbine has plenty of low end grunt to get you planing with a competition race board, surfboard, or large twin tip. Once up to speed, the kite stays efficient and in control as the apparent wind ramps higher. The bottom line is this kite increases your riding time and gets you off the beach when there’s not a whitecap in sight.

SUREFIRE SPINNER

A beefy, silky smooth swivel helps your center lines untwist after spinning tricks and kite loops. Its offset arms also act as a clutch to prevent the bar from flying too far away when you fire your safety system.

ACTIVE STOPPER BALL

When the wind is steady and you want to cruise, just set the stopper ball to take the bar load. To release, simply slide it up and out of the way.

CROSSOVER SURF FLUID X - VIBRATION DAMPENING SYSTEM Fluid X was born from the ski and snowboard industry. It made sense to look toward progressive snowsports technology to provide state of the art dampening control to reduce vibration and create a clean and smooth feel throughout all our high performance boards. Fluid X also provides an anti-torsion property that runs from tip to tail and it’s visco-elastic stringer improves the dynamic behavior of the core construction that allows more flex, more response and the smoothest feel unlike anything you’ve experienced on a kite surfboard. With Fluid X, we finally manage to give our boards a Polyester feel with the durability of an epoxy lay up.

WVX (BAMBOO VENEER + FLUID X) WVX construction is built with layers of bamboo wood, resin and weaved lightweight fiberglass combined with a strong EPS core. During each layering step vacuum bagging techniques are used to enhance the bonding strength. Proprietary to Slingshot, this construction controls the durability and flex of the board. The result is a proven lightweight, impact resistant board. A final layer of glass provides the highest fit and finish of any kite surfboard on the market. WVX construction features our Fluid X Vibration Dampening System for an unrivaled smooth ride. EPX (EPS + FLUID X) EPX is Slingshot’s new construction design that combines our latest laminated sandwich construction with our high end EPS foam core and our new Fluid X Vibration Dampening System. EPS Slingshot’s composite sandwich construction incorporates a unique layering technique of fiberglass and epoxy resin to build our entry level board stronger.
