VFW 9503 Auxiliary Announces Student Scholarships

BERKELEY – VFW 9503 Auxiliary is offering the following national art and singing contests to all school age students K to 12. Please request entry forms from your school advisors or visit vfwauxiliary.org/scholarships. All entries must be turned in to the mentioned persons in the article below or your school before March 31, and received by VFW 9503 Auxiliary post no later than March 31.

Affordable Cremation Packages

Package includes: Removal from hospital or facility within 25 miles of funeral home, all funeral home service fees, and required cremation container MCDDT-01.

Package includes: 2-Hr Memorial Visitation (during regular business hours) a complimentary select Urn, removal from Hospital or Facility with-in 25 miles of Funeral Home, all Funeral Home service fees, required cremation container MCDDT-01. Package excludes Crematory charges.

Illustration America art contest: Students in grades K to 8 can participate in this contest. It encourages students’ artistic abilities as they express how they see America through drawing and paintings. The contest consists of three grade divisions: K to 2, 3 to 5, 6 to 8. Get Excited for the Red, White and Blue singing contest: Share your talent, display your patriotism, and express your creativity. Enter the VFW Auxiliary national anthem singing contest national anthem singing contest. Youth in grades K to 12 are invited to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” in the genre and arrangement if their choice – they just can’t change the words! The contest consists of two grade divisions: K to 8 and 9 to 12 with one national winner in each grade division receiving one of two $500 prizes. Young American Patriotic Art Contest: Students submit an original two-dimensional piece of artwork. Entry must have been completed during the current school year. Entries begin at the local VFW Auxiliary level and then advance to state level and then on to National level where first place is awarded $15,000 scholarship. 3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest: Students submit an original 3-dimensional piece of artwork. Entries must be from current school year. Entries begin at the local Auxiliary level and then advance to state level and then on to National level where the winner is awarded $2,500 scholarship. Ceramic Paint Party

BERKELEY – Come out for a fun night of painting ceramics! Support two local businesses with this fundraiser for your local public safety dive team, Berkeley Township Underwater Search and Rescue Squad 86. Spots are limited. Follow the instructions below to reserve your ceramic piece before the event. When you arrive, you will paint your piece however you desire! Van Go Pottery will handle the rest. There will be a cash snack bar and 50/50 raffle! Money raised at this event will continue to help the dive team (501(c)3) remove abandoned boats from waterways throughout the Barnegat Bay, mitigate overpopulated jellyfish, provide surface water rescue during local events, provide outreach and education to local youth and schools, and so much more!
