In Celebration Of Earth Month

Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Convention Center released its annual sustainability report and highlighted in the report, the building automation upgrade to the DESIGO software system, done in partnership with Siemens, was completed in 2022 and has improved the facility’s efficiency and HVAC operations. Additionally, several phases of the facility’s restroom renovations, escalator modernization, and other upgrades were completed during the year. As part of their sustainability drive, all capital project contractors are required to recycle their construction and demolition materials. Other sustainability goals that were accomplished included the increase of the Center’s daily purchase of renewable energy certificates to 50 percent, the achievement of a 60 percent waste diversion rate, and the reduction of single-use plastics in the venue.

Wildwoods Tram Cars Celebrate 75 Years Of Service

The Wildwoods, NJ – The Wildwoods Boardwalk Sightseer Tram Cars are rolling into their 75th consecutive summer. 2023 marks the Diamond Jubilee anniversary that these electric peoplemovers will traverse the Wildwoods boardwalk, announcing their iconic audible warning, “Watch the Tram Cars Please!” Each year, they take hundreds of thousands of visitors on a journey of discovery, gliding along the boardwalk’s array of sights, sounds, and delicious smells. The original Tram Cars were custom built for the 1939 World’s Fair in Flushing, NY, first introduced on the Wildwoods boardwalk in 1949.

Savor the Flavor

Manheim, PA - Flavorfest at Mount Hope Estate & Winery, held on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire on May 27-28, is a perfect kick-off to the summer season. Twenty-seven wineries will provide samples and sales of many of their varietals. Eight distilleries will be on hand to sample and sell their craft spirits as well as something for beer and cider lovers. A host of artisans will sell their crafts and unique businesses will showcase their goods and services, as well.
