WHAT'S NEW

Valley Forge and Montgomery County continue with capital investments as venues are undergoing numerous renovation projects.

Normandy Farm Hotel and Conference Center is investing $5-million as they build a new Carriage House Building. Once complete, it will add 21 new suites that will tie into the historic buildings on-site.

At Sheraton Valley Forge, guestrooms will be complete by end of the year, while public areas, meeting space, a new restaurant and bar concept and Club Lounge will be built or renovated in 2023.

The Doubletree Philadelphia West is planning a full hotel renovation, tentatively scheduled to start Q3 2023. The renovation will add 3,000-square feet of meeting space and, upon renovation completion, the property will go through a conversion to become an Embassy Suites.

The new Hotel West & Main Conshohocken Philadelphia, Tapestry by Hilton opened in mid-October and is the first new hotel in Conshohocken in 22 years. This 127-room boutique hotel features on-site event space, and two onsite restaurants: 1874 and Hook & Ladder.

The former location of the Washington Hose and Steam Fire Engine Company, No. 1, Hotel West & Main pays homage to the property’s history through design features like original 16-foot-tall painted windows, metal wall panels, wooden finishes and wood floor - all restored. The firemen’s lockers are used as cabinets in the market area, which features locally sourced options. The horn code board is displayed in the main lobby lounge where guests also can see the refurbished firepole in the lobby and on the second floor. The ballroom features a pre-event foyer with floor-to-ceiling windows.

TopGolf King of Prussia is under construction and anticipates an opening in 2023.

Taku Japanese Steakhouse has opened in King of Prussia, offering the finest in steak and seafood prepared by Master Hibachi chefs at tabletop grills.

"We are optimistic about the continued return of in-person meetings and events within Valley Forge and Montgomery County," notes Higgins. "The summer and fall season brought an impressive level of future planning activity for both short-term and long-term programs. The events we’re supporting have been different than pre-pandemic, as they are incorporating more experiences into their agendas, such as team building activities allowing groups to give back to the community."
