Greetings from the Student Success Center!
It's hard to believe that the 2022-23 academic year started over 9 weeks ago. In the Student Success Center, the SSC Advisors have had the privilege to work closely with over 1100 undergraduate students.
Our First Year Advisors will meet with all 1st year students a minimum of three times in the Fall, helping students with the transition from high school to college, having conversations about their academic major, mapping out possible class schedules for the Spring, and, most importantly, taking the time to get to know the students on a personal level so the SSC Advisors can best serve the student.
Program Advisors have been meeting with our returning students throughout the Fall, as well. Conversations revolve around degree completion during Spring Registration Appointments, but they also include plans for possible career paths or graduate school, internships, campus involvement. and leadership opportunities.
We started Spring Registration for our Juniors and Seniors on September 26th and then opened Spring Registration for our Sophomores on October 24th. Freshmen will begin registering for Spring classes on November 14th. The last day of classes for the Fall semester will be December 16th and then our students will return for the first day of Spring semester on January 9th.
On behalf of the SSC Advisors, please know that we appreciate the opportunity provided us to work with all of the undergraduate students at Midland. The partnerships we develop with the students is significant and we take pride in hearing the stories our students share.
We are halfway through the semester and now is a great time to send your student a care package before the holidays!
