Bartley, Nebraska - Meet Breyer Lampe and his buddy Hayden Uerling. We found these 2 cowboys having a much needed rest after spending the last couple of days working hard preparing for their stop along the Nebraska Angus Tour. Their Farm was one of many that we had the privilege of visiting on October 3rd. We were warmly welcomed by the Lampe‘s charming family and fell in love with the peaceful existence that they live every day. As we were checking out their herd of Angus, we noticed Breyer washing his show Heifer named Lucy 938. So we decided to talk to him for a minute or two. ABP: How old are you? Breyer: 12 years old ABP: How did you become interested in showing cattle? Breyer: I went to fairs for years and became interested in it ABP: How long have you been doing this? Breyer: 3 years or so. This is my first year showing. ABP: Wow, does your friend Hayden help out too? Breyer: Yes, we both help each other out often. ABP: How did you do at the fair? Breyer: I got 2nd place! I plan on the Kearney Classic next. ABP: Great. Do you work with Lucy every day? Breyer: I work with her every couple of days. I spend a couple of hours with her, wash her, keep her tied up, blow her out
ABP: What do you like best about showing? Breyer: I like meeting new people and others who work with cattle too. I like the community. ABP: Does your sister show cattle too? Do you do any of this together or do you compete against each other? Breyer: No, she does her own thing. No competition. ABP: We can‘t believe how beautiful and lean Lucy is. Breyer: Yeah, I watch her diet. She‘s definitely a princess and shows well. ABP: Is there anything that you don‘t like? Breyer: Nope, I love doing all of it. I love living here and working with the cattle.
