Theatrical Releases on the Horizon
Movie theaters are back in business, continuing to scale up operations and capacities, which is great news for their communities and for the backlog of Hollywood films. Studios continue to be creative on the ways they are getting their titles to the consumer, using a mix of theatrical and premium streaming availability, which often includes steep in-home viewing costs. Libraries have always been able to bring together film and television from different sources to make it easy for patrons to revisit a favorite film or see a show they missed. With the puzzle of different streaming/theatrical exclusives (like Godzilla & Kong also on HBOMax or Raya and the Last Dragon also available with an additional Disney Plus charge), patrons are going to need Libraries more than ever for the must-see movies this year. Much like your patrons will need you during this time of transition, Midwest Tape will be here for our Library partners. Our video team continues to stay on top of the latest release dates, titles, and trends within the film industry. We are constantly working with the movie studios to guarantee we have the best title selection possible for you.
