Fall Showcase November 14, 2018 | 6:00pm | Study Hall A production of

Welcome to this evening As I stand in front of you, on a stage that was just an idea back in February of this year, I am blown away by the number of women business owners, aspiring business owners, friends, and family who have come out to tonight's Showcase. The concept of Vermont Womenpreneurs came about from my own pivot and refocusing of my life path. While on a retreat in Summer 2017 after leaving a toxic work environment, I came up with three words to guide my next move. I wanted to convene people by carving out space for them to connect with one another in such a way they could be themselves AND potentially come up with creative ways to collaborate. A couple months later, I started organizing lunch time networking meetings with women business owners. Why? Cause Lisa Wood, now Program Director at Mercy Connections Women's Small Business Program, made the suggestion at a Center for Women and Enterprise solopreneur workshop to meet up with the ladies in the class. Through these meetings, I crossed paths with Bethany Andrews-Nichols of Beenanza Design. The concept for the Showcase, followed by her creation of our logo, led to our first sold out Showcase in June. The magic of the Showcase is the awesome community of women-owned businesses who converge and participate. We are so thankful to presenters, sponsors, and vendors for signing up to share their stories and support this wild idea Bethany and I had. We are happy you are here. Your presence helps spur us to keep on organizing to support this growing community.
