EVENT BACKGROUND Insect Day 2015 encourages people of all ages to learn more about insects. In this year, the Ikatan Mahasiswa Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan (Student Organization of Plant Protection Department Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia) organizes this event, supported by partner organizations such as Indonesian Mantis and Phasmid Community, Indonesian Beetles Lovers, Indonesian Dragonfly Society, Entomological Studies Community, PTERON, and Butterfly Studies Community with interests in the science, natural history and conservation of insects. Over one million species of insects have been described and named worldwide. Indonesia has more diversity of tropical forest insect and we can find it in almost every habitat. They can be pollinators, predators, pests, parasites and prey and their study is an important part of conservation, food production, medicine and ecology. Therefore, through a series of events "Insect Day 2015" we hope people not only assess insects from the negative side. However people can find the positive side (uniqueness, ecology,social, cultural and economic) that give benefit for human survival and nature balance. Every creature of God certainly has benefits. Hopefully we can appreciate the power of God saved inside the insect. So that we can enjoy to learn and make us better.

AUDIENCE TARGET All of the student levels: Kinder garten, elementary school, junior high school, senior high school and university students in Indonesia regions.
