Cityscape Channels Theatre Deli carpark Sheffield, Uk 2018

Designing an outdoor place to promote a more public creativity and civic-minded social exchange. Detail 100m2 Area Two vibrant paths, these colorful surfaces contrast with the surrounding landscape, they reflect on the continuous movement of people through a city, most of which rarely stop to rest from a busy life, the running track like surface plays on the idea of being in a rush. This space aims at being a key transitional area for daily commuters, but also, an exciting space to stop and rest from the busy every-day life.

Section

Concrete steps The concrete steps provide a relaxing seating space, as the surrounding area is occupied mainly by businesses, this becomes a perfect place for lunch breaks.

Asphalt paving The recycled asphalt paving becomes an ideal route for joggers, cyclists or walkers, the site accomodates those who use it purely as a transitional space.

Semi-shade mix Evergreen ferns and flowering herbaceous planting

Yorkstone paving Two shades of Yorkstone paving will be used, a light grey stone on the main channel, a dark grey stone will be used for the overall surrounding areas. This emphasizes the sense of a central main avenue as well as creating visual stimuli when walking up the stairs.

Community centre The community centre will play an integral role in the establishment and management of the site features. Community based programmes will take over activities such as gardening and management of plants, cleaning and waste management, security and surveillance.

0 2 West Court Co-housing West Bar, Sheffield, Uk 2018 To create a resilient housing model designed to outlast generations, creating a strong community that defies the misconception that co-housing in England is not viable whilst providing a standard of living that is convenient and ergonomic as well as sustainable Through the basis of helping one another, life at West Court becomes easier and cheaper, everyone at West court has the responsibility to help the community in a productive way. West Court provides the essential framework for a successful co-housing project, every new resident must join a community group when they sign into a house which best fits for them, groups such as management, gardening, finance, painting and many others ensure the principle that everyday life becomes easier when you are many people working together. Communal dinners are served Monday through Saturday,

Precedent study Lange Eng, Denmark - Having one backyard for everyone allows for a bigger diversity of activities - Housing model allows for strong casual surveillance - Communal dinners and sharing of skills decreases costs of living

Woodthorpe Ravine Woodthorpe Sheffield, Uk 2018

Using vegetation and topography as structure to create an ecologically and experientially rich environment in which activity can happen. Alongside vegetation built structures: for play, to improve access, to facilitate educational, community and other recreational uses of the site. Water management, daylighting the stream and managing rainwater runoff from the housing are key features of the design.

04

Mapping the landscape through experience Munich, 2018 Using experiences as a visual tool to map and analyze locations, drawing conceptual maps purely from memory after visiting the sites.

River Isar Reflection of natural systems A concert on the banks, To hear the water flow, A route to work, Or a romantic beach The river provides, What the city cannot.

Olympic Park The exploration of different human systems A retro-futuristic relationship of visibility, perspective and boundary It’s organic duality imposed on the urban fabric, Shaded by technology’s blanket, A tension between forces, A run up the hill.

Petuel Park Representing the emotional value of temporary ownership -How many rooms in this house? One for you, one for him One for the one just passing They’re yours, For today.
