A plaza as a balcony Maracaibo, Venezuela. 2014-2017 The building is located on a site that is bordered by two of the most important streets of modern downtown Maracaibo, with an east-west connection. It is a complex built as an integral center bringing together various facilities like a shopping center, supermarket, offices, offices and an underground parking, around an over-elevated and covered plaza to favor meetings and contemplation, served by a wide dining terrace. On the ground floor and the over-elevated and covered plaza, the proposed landscape looks to extend the streets public character into the building, adapting to the climate and favoring the perception as an oasis in the warm weather of Maracaibo. It is a place of multiple convergences, of diverse offerings, where public space is present as a focal point for all these activities.

Lightness and permeability subjected to wind A small sailing school on the banks of a vast body of water should surrender to the wind. To build a permeable cover and shelter the sailing program under it, like in the millenary ancient bower, becomes a privileged inference in the Caribbean tropic. On two levels the program places: boats storage downstairs, classrooms and observation deck upstairs, both levels are subjected to the wind flow. The program sheltered acquires its presence recalling the chromatic color variation shaded under the indigenous bower of the original inhabitants of the shores of Lake Maracaibo.

Project: Ecomarket La Trigaleña Function: Mixed use Architecture:

NMD NOMADAS Design Team:

Miguel Escotet Construction Area: 104.463 sqft Project Year: 2014 Construction Year: 2016 Location: Ubicado entre las Avenidas 88 y 88A entre calles 130 y 132, en la Parroquia, San José de Valencia, estado Carabobo, Venezuela.

A hermit light box. In the tropics the cover acts as a building’s hat: to protect itself, and to be displayed. The building for the Ecomarket supermarket is presented as a glass box within a wrapped permeability; protect to show: sort of hermit building hiding from adverse climate conditions to appear to users as a showcase. The supermarket is displayed, shown, not hiding behind opaque walls. The building has 4 levels including 2 levels that concentrate the supermarket program, including storage, 1 level of parking and 1 terrace dining restaurants on the top level under the protection of a large cover. Access to the various programs of use of the building is carried-out laterally by means of a covered gallery in which the vertical circulation equipment (stairs and elevator) is located. The whole building provides accessibility for all types of movements on each level and between levels.

Project: Zona D Function: Mixed use Architecture:

NMD NOMADAS Design Team:

Miguel Escotet Construction Area: 917.365 sqft Project Year: 2015 Construction Year: 2018 Location: Circunvalación 2, a 70 m de la esquina con la Avenida 15, Corredor Vial las Delicias. Maracaibo, estado Zulia, Venezuela

Resizing and humanizing the urban fabric Zone D project generates connections between macro commercialgrains distributed in four blocks separated by roads. The proposal unifies these four large bodies to promote pedestrian walking from one building to another under shade and safely. The street becomes a space where people and vehicles co-exist. This project is committed to the creation of new urban centers that amalgamate diversity (commercial, cultural, recreational, etc.) but are federated by the preeminence of a generous and conditioned public spatiality; It is not a shopping center or a mall, but a piece of city integrated into the existing urban fabric; It is not an anti-urban imposture but a seam of urbanity.

Reciprocal museum in bass-relief Lima, Peru. 2016 Reciprocity is that relationship between two and exercised mutually and simultaneously. The conditions of competition lead to build below ground level much of the expansion and therefore it is not to be perceived as a flat surface next to the old museum but more in bass-relief, in a dual exchange between them. - The old building emerges as the new wing is immersed in mutual respect and recognition of the presence and the time of arrival of each one. - The current Mali expresses its urban and imposing presence and federates in high relief a turbulent and heterogeneous environment; the new wing in bass- relief federates urbanity of two parks that were before separated and isolated (Exhibition Park and Juana Larco de Dammert Park). - The inner courtyard of the old building slides into the imprint of the new one; empty of history, it now becomes a building.
