After shooting professionally for over twenty-five years, I have found that it never gets old. I am always facing new challenges, always thinking about new ways to market my business, and challenging myself creatively. It hasn’t been easy sustaining a profitable business, but the time spent trying has always been well worth the effort.

As a portrait photographer I have had the privilege to meet fascinating people and work with very talented creatives. The great thing about this profession is that I never plan to retire from the field. I plan to continue to create photographs, write about photography, and teach photography.

I say all this not to inflate my ego but to inspire you to follow your photographic desires. It is not always easy to sustain yourself as a professional portrait photographer, but if you have the desire, determination, and staying power, it will be well worth the journey.
