Creating a new building near the Museum of Contemporary arts in Belgrade represents an expansion of old museum and with it forms a new “Center for Contemporary arts- New Belgrade”. The new building is providing a much-needed exhibition space, modernization and use of new technics, storing space and more. The main problem was how to make new museum so near to old one and not jeopardize the iconic status of the old building that is one of the most important symbols of modernism in Serbian architecture. This was solved by treating the old building in relation to the new one as a work of art that is presented in a permanent exhibition. A form of the new building symbolizes the resurfacing of culture in city and state and tends to represent a new proud beacon of culture. It also seeks its rightful place as an urban landmark in Belgrade’s landscape. The main concept is to create the constant flow of people in and out of museums, and as the visitors walk through the museums they experience different art in different surroundings as buildings themselves. New building is equipped with a theater, cinema, concert hall and few multipurpose halls. At the ground floor, there is a restaurant, café, bookshop and souvenir shop that represent commercial part of the museum. The roof of the museum represents an extension of public space and provides a spectacular view of old Belgrade center.
M5 studio project:
competition or reality: three of the five Intelligence district 2013/2014
“Intelligence district” is a mix-use complex located in the New Belgrade at block six, near the student city. The location is mostly occupied by the forest and is declining to the street with high intensity of traffic and high flow of people. As we look the site from far, we can see how the urban tissue is “attacking” the forest and in few years will probably consume it. In accordance to that, the top priority was to save as much green space as it can be saved and add more space where it can be added. The buildings were to imitate the morphology of terrain, by using a basic unit, a module to form spaces where the spaces of higher intensity of functions would peak and the lower intensities would be grounded. The use of the building represents types of intelligence e.g. logical, musical, kinetic, social, linguistic, mathematical, visual, spiritual etc. For example, types of intelligence that are part of the cultural group are represented through the museum, library, workshops etc. The intelligence of recreational group trough sports hall, swimming pool and gym and so on for other intelligence. Alongside these, there are commercial and housing space mostly located next to the street. The basic idea is that the one type of intelligence is represented as a certain function, and then the similar functions are stacked together to form groups that form building or parts of buildings which then form the district.
TYPES OF INTELLIGENCE _linguistic _logicalmathematical _music _physical kinetic _visual spatial _social _personal _natural _spiritual
_musical + physical kinetic _logical-matematical+ social _natural
_ateliers for individuals
_linguistic + spiritual _visual spatial _commercial
_commercial + housing

After the unprecedented floods that struck Serbia and the region in May 2014, students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Belgrade University launched an initiative called New housing models for flood victims, in order to provide assistance from the profession al standpoint. The initiative was conceived as a set of lectures by professors of the Belgrade University and workshops for architecture students, with the aim to explore new housing typologies, and these resulted in a series of conceptual solutions for permanent and temporary housing, planning scenarios for housing in emergency situations, possibilities to carry out projects etc. All parts of the initiative were held at the Faculty of Architecture, in the period between 12 and 15 June 2015, and subsequently, the initiative results were published online, in order for the public to become familiarised with the initiative as soon and as fully as possible. Project SOS housing is an exploration and explanation of methodologies of acting in emergency situations, depending on possible scenarios, which establish clear steps for manners in which it is possible to react in critical situations by different architectural con cepts and housing typologies. Houses are not meant to be a permanent solution, there are more like a fast, economical and temporary solution for the problem of housing in the event of a disaster. As a basic element, we planned to use euro pallets, which in addition to several other layers becomes a block from which we build the house.

Future Architecture platform Belgrade energy spots Model of temporary housing project is a new approach to solving the housing problem primarily intended for social groups which are disadvantaged. With increasing poverty and migration, as well as lack of adequate strategies in the implementation of housing policies, the needs for alternative types of housing are increasing. The main objective is, first of all, the answer to current social and political scene of Serbia and the region, with the possibility of using it in other, broader social context. The main features that affect accessibility and applicability of alternative housing models are: economic viability, mobility and possibilities of reuse and repurposing, prefabrication and the use of recycled materials. Models of temporary housing, related to the topic Belgrade / Energy Spots project, defines the use of alternative types of housing in different social scenarios and in relation to the contexts of the city, in order to address the lack of housing intended for specific groups of people. Project redefines the housing model in relation to selected spatial structure formation within the city that has adequate physical capacity and potential for accommodation. Context / spatial formations define a typology of housing and settlements, where the key element is a basic residential unit, which is used in defining this model. It is, actually, a module for the accommodation of a family, which in further multiplication can form a structure in accordance with the needs within the social scenarios and in relation to town’s demands. Models of temporary housing project is defined as temporary assistance to socially vulnerable groups, aimed to establish a long-term resolution of housing issues and raising awareness about the issue itself and its social change, in order to create more humane living conditions for those in need.

Syria: Post-War Housing zip city The main idea of this project is to create housing block which is a base module for the beginning of the refurbishment of devastated cities. Process of city recovery is planed through several phases, which are followed in parallel by the transformation of the initial block. The initial object is put outside of the city, but just on the boarder so that it represents the base point, both, for living and for refurbishing. In the first phase, the block consists of living units and of additional functions units, such as: workshops, shops, kindergarten, first aid station, etc. The block is actually organized as a small settlement – ZIP CITY. As the life in settlement begins to develop, and people start to rebuild the city, the additional functions leave the initial structure, and living units spread over empty spaces within the structure. This is the second phase of the project. Several basic blocks combined together create a grid of infrastructure. Altogether, it becomes a suburban area of the destroyed cities which are slowly being rebuilt, and life can go back to its original place.
