Welcome to Publisher Let’s create a vacation photo album with some new features in Publisher 2013.
Insert Pictures Keep your pictures organized, so that you can find what you need. Let Publisher arrange your extra pictures off to the side as you insert them.
TRY IT OUT Add a bunch of pictures in one go from the Insert tab. Then drag them from the scratch area, the grey space on your screen, to the picture place holders on this page. When the pink highlight appears, release the mouse button.
Swap Pictures Experiment with different pictures and sizes to find the right image, without wasting time. Swap pictures by dragging and dropping one of the pictures onto the other.
TRY IT OUT
Click the icon in the middle of a picture and drag it over another picture until a pink highlight appears around it. Release the mouse button. That’s it.
Shape, Picture, and Text Effects Make your content stand out with impressive-looking effects for shapes, pictures, and text.
TRY IT OUT
Select a picture and apply a Picture Effect, such as Bevel or Glow, on the Picture Tools tab. Select some text and apply a Text Effect, such as Shadow or Reflection, on the Text Box Tools tab.
Full Picture Backgrounds Show off your best images as high resolution page backgrounds.
TRY IT OUT: Right-click one of the pictures above and choose Apply to Background and then either Fill or Tile.
Photo Center Printing Share your great-looking publication by preparing it to print at any photo center.
TRY IT OUT Click File > Export > Save for Photo Printing. Now choose one of the Image File Types to save this publication as a series of images. Click File > Export > Save for Commercial Printer. Now choose PDF File to save this publication as a PDF.
