Women’s Dress Code Skirts, Blouses and Dresses ! Skirts must be no higher than top of the knee. ! No slits (front, back or sides) may be higher than regulation skirt length. ! Skirts that are knee length but have slits higher than the top of the knee must be sewn, not pinned. ! Sleeveless dresses or blouses may not be worn in class. Sleeveless blouses worn to class must be worn with a t-shirt underneath or sweater over the blouse. Sleeveless dresses or blouses may be worn outside of class as long as they do not cut in over the shoulder. Dresses with straps for sleeves must have a shirt under them. No low-cut dresses (front, back or sides) are allowed. ! Strapless blouses and sun dresses are not permitted on or off campus. ! Please be sure that all blouses and shirts have a modest neckline. No cleavage. ! Sheer shirts must have legal (to the shoulder) shirts worn underneath. ! Clothing or accessories that glorify any ungodly practice or lifestyle are not permitted. ! Shirts or blouses with numbers, letters or logos on the front are not acceptable to wear in the classroom. ! No sweatshirts or athletic wear is to be worn in class. Pants, Pantsuits ! Dress slacks and khaki’s are the only pants acceptable to wear to class. ! No writing or designs is permitted on back of pants to be worn outside your housing complex. ! Pants that have small pinstripes are acceptable without a corresponding jacket. ! The following pants are not be worn during class: ! Denim ! Spandex slacks (or spandex blend) ! Sweat pants ! Overalls ! Camouflage ! Capri pants ! Cargo pants ! Corduroy pants ! Nylon drawstring pants ! Patterns (flowers, etc.) ! If pants appear too tight, they can be covered up with a sweater or suit jacket. Bathing Suits ! Only modest one-piece swimsuits with straps are permitted. Absolutely no two piece swimsuits. Strapless suits are unacceptable. No French-cut (high cut) legs or very low cut backs are accepted. Shorts, Capri’s

Shorts or capri’s are acceptable on campus, but they must be no shorter than 4” above the knee. Shorts and capri’s are not permitted during class. Shorts with writing or symbols printed on the back may not be worn outside your housing complex. Shorts are not permitted in office buildings. Shorts maybe worn in the cafeteria during breakfast, dinner and all day Saturday. Please refrain from wearing them during lunch and on Sunday. Spandex may be worn underneath running shorts. Shorts must be regulation length. Spandex may not be worn without shorts over them.

Footwear ! Flip flops with flat bottoms including foam, rubber and wood are not permitted in class. ! Shoes with straps between the toes are permitted in class but must a modest heel. ! Shoes must be worn at all times outside your housing complex, including parking lot areas. Miscellaneous ! No body piercing such as no studs in eyebrows, nose, tongue, etc. ! Retainers for piercings are not permitted to be left in while attending CFNI. ! No tattoos. If you have a tattoo, see the Dean of Women for instructions. ! No baseball caps are allowed in the cafeteria or class. ! No excessively tight clothing may be worn, including shirts, shorts, skirts and pants.

Men’s Dress Code Attire for classes, services, and official functions !

Men are required to wear neatly pressed slacks or pants such as “Dockers” or “khakis”. Camouflage and Cargo pants are not acceptable. Denim jeans or pants that look like Jean material may not be worn.

Belts must be worn.

!

All shirts must have a winged, fold-down collar. “Polo’s” or “Golf” shirts are acceptable. Sweaters and vests may be worn if a fold-down collar is worn and visible. Full turtleneck shirts may be worn without any other shirt during the winter season only. • •

All shirts must be tucked into the slacks. Athletic jerseys, Sweatshirts, or T-shirts of any kind or style are not permitted.


Sweat-jackets or “hoodies” may not be worn during classes.

Socks and shoes must be worn. No sandals!

!

International students may wear “formal dress attire” from their nation if it is approved by the Deans department.

Attire for free time !

Jeans, T-shirts, and sweatshirts may be worn as casual wear. Spaghetti strap shirts are not acceptable on campus.

Modest shorts are acceptable outside, at the gym, and in the dormitories ONLY. • Shorts are not acceptable in the Headquarters Building, Institute Building, Library Building, Music Buildings or in any administrative offices. • Shorts may be worn in the Cafeteria during breakfast and dinner. Only on Saturday may shorts be worn during lunch.

No baseball caps or hats of any kind are allowed in the cafeteria, classrooms or functions.

!

Men may go without shoes and shirts only in their dorm rooms/apartments and at the pool.

!

A modest swimsuit is acceptable dress for swimming and may be worn together with an appropriate shirt during transit between your dormitory/apartment and the gym.

!

Gym shorts worn with a T-shirt or a modest tank top are acceptable gymnasium attire and may be worn during transit. Sweat-suits are also acceptable. No tank tops are allowed at Girl’s dorm.

Gym shoes and socks are required in the gym. Dress shoes, thongs, or running shoes that mark the gym floor cannot be used to participate in activities in the gym.

Hair styles and jewelry !

Rules pertaining to hairstyles and jewelry apply at all times while you are a CFNI student. These rules apply while you are on or off campus, at work, or away from school during breaks.

Men must shave daily.


• Beards and mustaches must remain neatly trimmed at all times. • Beards may not be started after a school term begins. • No half-shaven styles permitted. !

Haircuts are to be moderate and modest as determined by the Deans Department. • Hair must not extend past the bottom of the collar or past the middle of the ears. • Side burns may be worn only to the bottom of the ears. • Hair may be highlighted or dyed only in natural hair colors that look modest. • Multiple-colored hair dyes are not permitted. • No half-shaven hairstyles are allowed.

No earrings or body piercing may be worn by male students or male children. Any trendy jewelry that is unacceptable will be addressed by the Deans Departments.

!

Students are not permitted to receive a tattoo while enrolled as a student at CFNI. This includes summer breaks!

!

Nail polish may not be worn by males of CFNI.
