GAININGMOMENTUM

Last month Marlene and Kevin Warr finalized a long-term lease in the space formerly occupied by Treads at Parker Road and Mainstreet as part of a plan for an enormous expansion for Momentum Athletics Center.

“Part of the excitement about expanding is that our new facility will offer more complete programs for Cheerleading, Tumbling, and Ninja within its own space. Right now, we offer these programs at our existing Progress Way location, however, these programs need to share space with our vast gymnastics programs. We want to make sure that these programs are given the same quality of care and attention that our gymnastics programs receive. We recognize the challenges that have come with the incredible growth we’ve experienced since taking full ownership a year ago, and along with a full-time program manager, we expect having their own designated space will help with this. We are excited to offer these newer programs because of the options they will bring to families in Parker and surrounding communities.”

One of these programs is Momentum’s new preschool program which is offered in its own separate gym with toddler-size equipment. As a part of a healthy initiative to make gymnastics affordable for every family, Momentum has brought “Baby Mo” to Parker, a free Mommy/Daddy and me interactive program designed to give parents an opportunity to be active with their youngest children. But that’s not their only big announcement. Nastia Luskin, 2008 Olympic all-around Olympic gold medal winner is coming to Parker and you don’t have to be a Momentum gymnast to meet her! Nastia will visit Sunday, December 8 to help raise money for the COMAC Booster Club and Make-A-Wish Colorado in honor of Andrea, a 7 year old with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and to help fulfill her wish to have breakfast with Anna and Elsa at Disney.

Nastia finished her competitive career with five Olympic medals and nine World medals, the second highest total of any U.S. gymnast. Nastia’s visit to Momentum has many young gymnasts in the community excited for the opportunity to have one-on-one time with her in special clinics and programs throughout the day. In addition to Make-A-Wish Colorado, the event benefits COMAC Booster Club in their efforts to offset the costs associated with competitive gymnastics.

The more money each gymnast raises, the more prizes they’ll win; the more time they spend with Nastia, the more they’ll support two great causes. It’s a win-win!
