SeaPort Airlines to begin operating new Cessna Caravan Changes to schedule will take place in September Portland, Ore. – SeaPort Airlines announces the integration of their new aircraft, a Cessna 208-B Grand Caravan, into scheduled air service. Utilizing the new aircraft will result in slight alterations to the current schedule, beginning September 25th, 2010. The new Cessna has been dedicated to the coastal routes of Astoria-Warrenton and Newport in place of the Pilatus PC-12 to facilitate sustainable air service for these routes. The Cessna Caravan, like the Pilatus PC12, is a single-engine turbo prop aircraft, and will continue to be operated by two experienced SeaPort crew members. Featuring one of the most reliable engines, the Caravan serves as an excellent utility aircraft—one of the incredibly popular models of single-engine aircraft in the industry. Changes to the current schedule have been made due to the incorporation of the new Cessna. Such changes have provided a great opportunity to acquiesce the request of passengers flying between Astoria and Portland for an evening flight. The new schedule will contain two daily round-trips between Astoria and Portland, departing Portland at 6am and 6pm, and departing Astoria-Warrenton at 7am and 7pm. In addition to facilitating daily business travel between Astoria-Warrenton and Portland, the new schedule will allow passengers to connect more easily to Boeing Field in Seattle. Three daily round-trips will continue to be operated between Newport and Portland in the morning, afternoon, and evening, with only slight alternations to those particular schedules. To unveil the new aircraft, SeaPort will host open house events at Newport Municipal on September 30, from 12-4pm and Astoria-Warrenton Airport on October 13th from 2-5pm. The events will feature wine and beer tasting, as well as hors d’oeuvres. A raffle will be held for attendees, featuring vouchers for round-trip tickets. With changes in aircraft and schedules just around the corner, there is one thing passengers can expect SeaPort to maintain—incredible customer service. SeaPort will continue to go above and beyond to address customers’ needs as transitions are made to better serve them. Passengers can expect to be met with hasslefree, convenient service on a regular basis. SeaPort Airlines operates over 100 daily scheduled flights in five Northwest cities, seven Mid-South cities, and seven Southeast Alaska cities as Wings of Alaska. Each location consistently provides passengers with the efficient and friendly service of a private airline at a price that cannot be beat. SeaPort Airlines is a scheduled commuter airline. Tickets can be purchased at SeaPort’s website, www.SeaPortAirlines.com or by calling 888.573.2767. Through ticketing will soon be available on SeaPort’s new interline partner, US Airways. ********* Please contact Claire James at SeaPort Airlines any questions.
