The great majority of service members seek out voluntary education and training opportunities at some point in their careers. Using college degrees, certifications, licensures, or training to enhance your knowledge and skill sets can significantly aid you in achieving your goals while in the military and as a civilian.

Learn more about the Education Center and the Professional Development Center to help you find a path toward securing your future through education!

Education Center

The RAFM Education Center staff is available 5 days a week to assist with all of your education and training needs. The Education Specialists provide one-on-one counseling that can cover a diverse range of topics including vocational/technical and professional advisement, education-related military programs, and general education guidance. If you’ve got questions, they have answers!

They also provide informational briefings (at the Education Center or on-location if need be) that focus on subjects important to service members, spouses, dependents, and eligible civilians. The course list is not all-inclusive and briefings can be customized to meet the specific needs of briefing attendees.

The Professional Development Center

The Professional Development Center (PDC) provides resources and tools needed to become self-motivated, competent, highly skilled leaders and followers.

They hold a variety of professional development courses and seminars to assist Team Mildenhall members with personal and professional development.

COURSES & ELIGIBILITY

The PDC can assist members in making the best career decisions, providing individual counseling and briefings, and to let members know what programs and opportunities are available to them at any step of their careers.

Most of the courses are open to all Team Mildenhall personnel ID card holders. For eligibility please contact the PDC.

Library Scavenger Hunt

Available all month

Search around the library for the hidden pictures. Once you find them all, you can choose a prize from the treasure box! New scavenger hunt starts every Monday.

Storytime & Music

Wednesday, Aug. 2 & 9 • 11 am – 1 pm

Join us every Wednesday for Storytime where we will read a story and create a craft! Following Storytime we’ll also have a fun session of making music as a way to Find Your Voice! Sign up in person at the library or send us an email at rafmlibrary@gmail.com

STEAM Friday

Friday, Aug. 4 & 11 • 2 pm – 4 pm

Join us throughout the summer for an afternoon of fun, hands-on STEAM activities! Floam making, ice cream in a bag, exploding paint canisters and much more! Don't miss a new STEAM activity each Friday.

Making Memories with Craftsy

Tuesday, Aug. 1 & 8 • 5 pm - 7 pm

Adults can join us every Tuesday this summer for drop-in sessions for adults where we’ll watch Craftsy tutorials and try out new crafting skills, such as journaling, drawing, knitting and much more! Each week you can refine the skills you learned the week prior or start a new crafting skill. Beginner supplies will be provided.

Not Your Mother’s Book Club

Come join our online book club! You can share what you’re reading, what you want to read, what you have read in the past or post any questions you might want answered! More information on our Facebook page (@RAFMLibrary).

Photography 101 Exhibition

Thursday, Aug. 17 • 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

It is time for our patrons to show off what they have been learning and working on for the past 7 weeks in our Photography 101 class! We will showcase their pictures around the library for everyone to enjoy. We'll also have drinks and appetizers for everyone to enjoy as they walk around admiring the art!

Find Your Voice Video

Submit a 30-second video about the way you "Find Your Voice!" Your video can be about anything you are passionate about! Do you Find Your Voice through dancing, or singing? Maybe it’s through playing video games or being in a play! The videos will be brought together into one fun video and shared at the end of our Summer Reading Program! Writing Competition

Do you have a passion for writing or storytelling? Submit a story, an essay, a comic, fanfic, or a poem to our Summer Reading Program Writing Competition. Limit of 7,500 words and must be legible, typed is preferred. Open to all ages! Deadline: Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023. Email your submission along with your name (anon/pen names allowed) and age to:
