RAF Mildenhall, 60th AMW support Afghanistan evacuation efforts

U.S. Air Force KC-10 Extender aircraft and Airmen assigned to the 60th Air Mobility Wing returned to Travis Air Force Base, California, from Royal Air Force Mildenhall, Sept. 2.

RAF Mildenhall served as a staging area for the 60th AMW during their participation in Operation Allies Refuge. The 60th AMW conducted safe and orderly evacuations of eligible foreigners and vulnerable Afghans in close coordination with allies and partners.

Defensor Fortis: The100th SFS Armory

Defensor Fortis, or defenders of the force, is the motto all U.S. Air Force Security Forces airmen live by. The 100th Security Forces Squadron armors at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, defend the force in numerous ways. Armors not only issue patrolmen weapons during shift changes and maintain armory inventory, but also perform maintenance by dismantling and greasing weapons.

100th ARW commander takes first flight at RAF Mildenhalls

U.S. Air Force Col. Gene Jacobus, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander, completes a pre-flight briefing at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, Sept. 1, 2021. Preflight briefs allowed the crew to review factors such as weather, cargo and flight routes to successfully provide air refueling support throughout Europe and Africa.

Volunteer organizations collected and packed goods for the Afghanistan evacuees

U.S. Airmen, civilians and military spouses from Team Mildenhall and Liberty Wing volunteer in support of Operation Allies Refuge at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, Aug. 26, 2021.
