New Mobile Market

GoFarm, a nonprofit organization working to strengthen the local food system and build healthier communities, is excited to announce the launch of their newest initiative, the GoFarm Mobile Market. GoFarm aims to make healthy, local food more affordable and accessible to more people in the community by collaborating with community partners to host low-cost fresh food markets in locations where there are natural barriers to accessing local food. The mobile market will allow GoFarm to almost double their food distribution capacity. The mobile market will also greatly enhance GoFarm’s initiatives that are in partnership with Jefferson County Head Start, Jefferson County Public Health, City of Lakewood Early Childhood Education, Eaton Senior Communities, Juanita Nolasco Residences, and others. At these partner location sites where markets are held, families can buy produce at affordable prices and participate in fun, educational activities. SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks are accepted, and other discounts are offered to families receiving WIC benefits.

LifeSpark Cancer Resources Fundraiser October 15

LifeSpark Cancer Resources invites you to their Touching Tomorrow annual luncheon, a fundraising event, Friday, October 15 at noon at the Wellshire Event Center in Denver. The event is free, parking is free, and lunch is included. Touching Tomorrow includes inspiring speakers, stories of hope and healing, and an opportunity to support LifeSpark, a non-profit organization that provides Reiki and Healing Touch treatments free-of-charge to cancer patients from Longmont to Colorado Springs. LifeSpark Cancer Resources is a Colorado-based, nonprofit organization that provides Reiki or Healing Touch sessions at no charge for individuals with cancer and their caregivers. LifeSpark therapies are complementary to traditional medical care and help patients maximize their recovery. Nearly 80 percent of those receiving sessions report feeling significantly better and 95 percent say the sessions were valuable. Over 100 volunteers deliver thousands of sessions to individuals with cancer and their caregivers every year.
