Welcome to the official booklet about Porto Alegre, here you will find all the information about our three interesting projects: Highway to POA Driblando Gira Mundo In addition, you can find some awesome information about Porto Alegre, which is the capital of Rio Grande do Sul. This is a beautiful city full of adventure, we have incredible people, history and culture that would become a part of your day. We are famous for our Churrasco (delicious different meat types), but also we drink hot Chimarrão every day and it becomes part of our gaúcha culture. Just take some minutes to read this booklet, and let me tell you, you´ll love this city and some many others that are waiting for you to discover Porto Alegre!!!
Realization date: 20/05 – 31/07 Minimum of duration required: 6 weeks Description Gira Mundo project aims to promote a discussion and learning environment between young leaders and kids up to 18 years old. Purpose is to raise the kids' interest in global issues and teach them simple daily actions that will change their way to see the world. This edition of Gira Mundo intents to bring ďŹ fty foreigns to work in different NGOs and schools in Porto Alegre. Job Description Interns will work in pairs to prepare and give dinamic and playful lessons about the topics: Human Rights, Environmental Responsibility, Ethics and Citizenship, Multiculturalism, Creativity, Health, Sustainability and Quality of Life.
Driblando Realization date: 11/05 – 27/07 Description The goal of the project is to use Brazil’s passion, football, as a tool to teach and promote lifeskills and subjects that will help empower youth and prepare them for the future while at the same time showing them that they’re capable of ‘dribbling’ the obstacles of life. Job Description Work in Brazilian NGOs with underprivileged kids and teenagers to develop and present workshops and practical lessons using sports as a tool to teach life skills and themes such as the following: diversity, tolerance, healthy life, social responsibility, leadership, teamwork, etc. These topics are related with sports, when the youth learn to play fair and respect others and their own limitations.
Realization date: 08/06 – 03/08 Description Highway to POA is a project to promote the city, which is the capital of the Brazilian state Rio Grande do Sul. Explore the attractions of the city and its surroundings, trying to capture it in photos, videos, posts and articles. It’s not only focus on attracting more people to visit, study and work in Porto Alegre, but also suggesting possible improvements of its touristic infrastructure. Job Description You will work with others trainees dicovering Porto Alegre, emerging in the local culture. You'll make videos and photos, during the visits, to promote Rio Grande do Sul, more specifically the city of Porto Alegre. You'll also be responsible for updating the web blog on a daily basis with articles, impressions, photos and videos made during the project. You'll design and confect the content that will be posted on the blog, to make it look attractive for the viewers to keep their attention on it.
