What a spring! Between trunk shows and custom monograms, I had a milestone of my own when my son, Garrett Patrick, was born on April 19. He is happy, healthy and has the best stationery a baby could ask for! After the whirlwind, I headed to the National Stationery Show in May to visit with our current designers and scope out new lines as well. We are introducing lots of exciting offerings and items, so visit the store soon! XOXO, Kara
Wedding season is officially upon us! The dates that seemed so far away during the invitation process are coming and going at warp speed. After getting married in the fall, I’ve settled into newlywed life with my husband and adore every second of it! Although no longer thinking about my own wedding details, I find that I still get just as giddy discussing Big Day plans with our fabulous brides. The design process for each and every invitation brings a new idea, concept or color scheme that makes every day different. I love seeing the little paper details we work so hard on come to life along with the colors, dÊcor choices and most importantly, the happy bride and groom in these stunning photos. SPOTLIGHT Chicago Cupcake
Chicago Cupcake has taken a fresh spin on the cupcake by incorporating elements of mousse and cheesecake. The result is a rich, decadent cupcake unlike any other. When asked what his favorite cupcake flavor is owner Brendan Bolger answered “it’s like asking me to choose my favorite child!” but after some deep thought, he admitted to some favored flavors: Plain Jane, Peanut Butter Cup and Motherload... it depends on your mood, of course! It is the icing on the {cup}cake for any wedding or large scale event! Chicago Cupcake (312) 300-4797 brendan@chicagocupcake.com SPOTLIGHT, page 5
