FACILITIES Internet access, Microsoft Office, SPSS package and study space is available in the Library. Participants may use these facilities while they are doing the Certificate in Essential Palliative Care. Library material may be photocopied subject to relevant copyright regulations. Photocopying costs 5c per page. COLLECTION The Library is developing it’s collection of books, reports, audiovisual material and journals in subjects areas such as palliative & terminal care, nursing / medical, gerontology, bereavement, religion & spirituality, education, ethics, complementary therapies, oncology & management. Registered members of the Library may borrow books from the Library collection. Books CANNOT be taken from the Library unless they have been checked out by the Librarian. All books which are issued to you are your responsibility. Items which are lost under your care must be paid for in full. You may register with the Library by filling in the application form. JOURNALS and ELECTRONIC RESOURCES The Library also subscribes to a number of journals. They may be consulted by course participants in the Library. The Library also has access to Cinahl and UptoDate databases which participants can use to search for material for their portfolio. CINAHL Ž plus with Full Text is a nursing & allied health research database, providing full text for more than 750 journals indexed in CINAHL. The database also provides full text for more than 220 books/monographs. Course participants can access Cinahl in the Library or they can also request access from home by contacting the Librarian.
ARTICLE REQUESTS Journals cannot be removed from the Library. If you are looking for articles for your course-work, please send as much information as possible to the Librarian about the article and it will be sent to you. Article Details: Journal Title, Year, Author, Volume and Issue/Part and the Title of the Article. If you have any other queries, please contact the Librarian.
