October 2018 Friends, We have great news as the supporters of Father Capodanno’s Cause for Canonization now exceed 2,500 individuals. This is over twice the number of supporters as last year and the number continues to grow. One of these new supporters is Mary Catherine Dunn who has accepted an appointment to the Guild Board of Directors. The word of Father Capodanno’s holy life continues to spread across the nation and overseas. Support for Father Capodanno’s worthy cause is manifesting itself in myriad ways. Recently, an Army veteran in the Bronx asked his relatives to donate to the Cause in lieu of presents in celebration of his 100th birthday. From this request alone, over $2,000 was raised for the Cause. In addition, a policewoman’s family in New Orleans designated the Guild for Memorial contributions. Every day people are finding new ways to support Father’s Cause, and the Guild is committed to carefully protect and execute all donations - nothing will be wasted. A new book is now available on Father Capodanno’s life. It was written by Monsignor Stephen DiGiovanni and is titled Armed with Faith: The Life of Father Vincent R. Capodanno, MM. The book draws on the information that was discovered during the Diocesan phase of the canonization process. The documentation of this information, or Acta (Acts) has been submitted to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome. The book is available in many locations including on-line at Amazon.com. Over 2,000 copies of our distribution of the documentary, Called and Chosen—Father Vincent R. Capodanno, have been distributed, and new requests continue to arrive. Remember, for a donation of $20, the Guild will mail you a copy of this award- winning program. We have plenty in stock, and the documentary makes an excellent Christmas gift for family and friends. Additionally, the Guild commissioned a portrait of Father Capodanno, and 150 signed and numbered lithographs have been printed. These will be available on November 12th for a minimum donation of $150. To request one, please send with the check a note to Mrs. Mary Preece at PO Box 29424, Washington, DC 20017, or use the link at the Guild website. The annual Memorial Mass, held on September 4, was very well attended. Interest in Father Capodanno’s life, and in the Cause, continues to grow, and presentations can be requested under the “CONTACT” menu on the website. Your generous support is needed now more than ever as we prepare to enter the next phase of the Cause. Investigation of potential miracles requires extensive “expert” review and will greatly strain the resources the Guild has available. The Cause cannot move forward without your support. Thank you and may God bless you and your family in the months to come. The Father Vincent Capodanno Guild Board
