Albatros D.Va The D.Va model from Albatros was the manufacture’s attempt to fix the several shortcomings of the earlier Albatros fighters. Baron von Richthofen, the Red Baron himself, said the D.V was “obsolete” and “ridiculously inferior” to the English planes. The modestly improved D.Va served throughout the remainder of the war, but was outperformed by the Fokker D.VII. The D.Va was the last Albatros fighter to see operational service. The museum’s Albatros was originally built in Germany and obtained from the Yeovilton Naval Air Museum in England.
